Thanks for the video, I coincidentally bought the exact same memory for the exact same laptop.

Should we disconnect the battery before changing the chips??

@DarrellElmerRodgers just make sure the power cord from the wall charger is unplugged from the laptop and shut the laptop down completely before replacing the memory. I've never unplugged the battery to do these cards. You can touch the metal chassis inside the computer and at the same time touch something grounded like the metal screws on the front of an outlet box to ground everything if you want. Can't hurt.

I got my Crucial cards and discovered I cannot remove the two silver screws, even with a jewelers screwdriver. I'm afraid to strip them out. Would you happen to know their size incase I need to buy new ones? I'm considering paying a local tech to do this for me. @@ShawnMartinNCBIRDMAN

What specific model ram did you purchase, and is it still working?
I have a Inspiron 17 3000 series, and Crucial's website says they have no compatible ram. Amazon's question section suggests the same thing.
I was looking to do a full Crucial upgrade--ram, m.2, 2.5 ssd--but this is throwing a kink in my chain.

@Just Askin' I purchased this: www.crucial.com/memory/DDR4/CT16G4SFRA32A it is still working just fine. I have memory from Crucial in a PC tower from 2002 that still works, a 13 year old Dell laptop, and a 10 year old Dell laptop and a 5 year old Dell laptop that all still work. When you ran the scan tool from Crucial on your Dell Inspiron 17 3000 laptop it said nothing was compatible? What OS are you running, and what processor? I'm running Windows 10 upgraded to 11, and core i3 or i5, can't remember.

For whatever reason it said that my system only supports max of 2 or 3 gb ram. It has an i7 in it with the original 8gb ram.
      I wanted to do 2x8gb ram, 2tb 2.5 ssd, and a 2tb m.2; but Dell was showing it only supports 1x16gb, 2tb 2.5 ssd, and a 512gb m.2 max.
If yours is still good with 32gb ram, I will just put it all in and see what happens.

@@justaskin3125 run Crucial's program, if you don't have enough slots yours is alredy built with max RAM and not very much.

@bacharabdohfize sorry I don't actually have any games I play on my computer perhaps a before and after with a really heavy loaded game would make for a good RAM upgrade review!
