      Absolutely, that is brilliant. I was about to make this same comment, haha. And now I know why I never tried to go beyond my indie career of a few years, because I am 95% theater kid and the slowly-accumulating pain of the whole thing was enough to make me think it was a terrible use of my time

      Problem is there is like maybe 3 MMA fighters active and retired that would thrive in pro wrestling because they have distinctive personalities. Otherwise it just sums up as " grr me fight for real me tough!" Which Lesnar already does so we don't need another.

      I actually don't think his title reign was that bad tbh - he beat Drew and Lashhley (both pushed to the moon and the previous two champions) as well as KO. He lost a few times, but surely that makes more sense in kayfabe than a perennial upper-midcarder suddenly being able to beat all of WWE's S-tier guys in a matter of months?
      He was presented as an underdog champion, someone who was really good and could beat anyone on his day, I don't get why every champion has to immediately be super-dominant? The way he was presented made total sense, and is pretty similar to how NJPW does short reigns for guys who arent top dog.

  • @OctoberRust02
    @OctoberRust02 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Some honorable mentions for me:
    The Mandy Rose Controversy: Whether you agree with Mandy being released or not, it was still an objectively hypocritical move by WWE, since they have a history of babying wrestlers who have done MUCH worse than Mandy did. **cough** Usos **cough** Matt Riddle. And NXT losing it's biggest star seemingly instantly is a huge blow to them. I just hope Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne do well in Mandy's absence.
    Austin Theory's as Mr. MITB: the first Mr. MITB to cash in on a non world title and he didn't even succeed on the cash in. It made him look like a total chump.
    Liv Morgan as Smackdown Women's champion: The title win itself was amazing but the rest of her reign was just not that good. She had a bunch of lackluster matches with Ronda Rousey and she was made to look pretty weak. She's been lost in the shuffle ever since losing the belt.
    WWE's booking of Sonya Deville: This is mainly just a nitpick for me but Sonya is one of the most talented women in WWE and they are doing precisely fuck all with her. She has a great look, She's good in the ring, and she can hold her own on the mic. She's Women's Champion material but I guess WWE doesn't see her as that for some reason.

    Big E’s WWE title reign is further proof that, just because WWE gives you a run with the belt, doesn’t mean they saw you as a top star. WAY too often they do this, once you lose the belt, you fall right back down to where you were before. WWE are truly COMMITTED to building VERY few new stars.
    Liv Morgan was the same way, she was just there to keep the belt warm for Ronda (even though at this point she’s BETTER than Ronda arguably), and now they don’t know what to do with her.
