    Life saver, I have an ECS exhaust on my '18 S4 and the rattles that come from the increased exhaust vibration were driving me mad

    Did a DIY today and have to say it worked like a charm. No more rattles or buzzing from the door. Appreciate the video

      Glad it worked out, was like a whole new system when I was done!

    Thank you !!! You are a life saver !! The noise on my 2020 A3 was annoying me to death. Dealership claim to fix issue but the noise came back almost immediately. I will conduct this project next month.

    My man! Thanks for taking the time to make this Video. Mine was bugging me and I was about to buy some Dynamat to work on it. I already had a spool of Butyl, so after watching the vid I started with that and was able to fix it for $0. To your point on another comment, it's not 100% perfect withe some frequencies, but it is DRAMATICALLY improved. Thank you!

      Thanks Barry, I just think the whole design is terrible. I rented a VW Taiga in Ireland last week, it’s a very bare bones car with an actual key for the ignition, but they fixed the speaker buzz for sure, never heard one rattle, so hopefully the newest models are ² away.

    Thanks man! I just got the car, it has about 700 miles on it and I already seem to hear some rattle from the central body that houses the gear leaver, only when I go over bumps. It’s driving me mad 🤦‍♂️

    Thanks for the video. Going to do the same thing in my A4. Might try using the "Plumber's Putty" that I have at home which will probably work similar to these butyl tapes!

    • @ubrsnl
      @ubrsnl  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would not recommend, plumbers putty is neither sticky enough nor durable enough to properly fix it.

    Just tried it there. Like driving a new car!! 2017 A5 Coupe. FYI plumbers putty works too, I couldn’t find any of the stuff he used local

      Plumbers putty will work OK short term, but in time it dries hard, and can crack, where as butyl rubber tape will stay hard for decades. Better than nothing for sure though.

    Came across this video and I think I'm going to do the same. How have the rattles/resonance/harmonics been since? Dealership has been nearly hopeless trying to address it.

    • @ubrsnl
      @ubrsnl  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very good, so much so that I haven’t been pushed to work on it again. Some of the frequencies are hard to tame in any automotive setting.

    Think this may be my issue. Did you notice the sound went away when the window was rolled down?
    It sounds like it may just be coming from the bottom right piece you point to by the speaker.

    • @ubrsnl
      @ubrsnl  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s most/many of those, window was unrelated, still sounds great now months later, the issues I addressed were definitely the problem.

    • @dustinskoubo8753
      @dustinskoubo8753 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ubrsnl thanks for the video. I’ll try it out, but I swear the rattling goes away when the window is down, it’s odd. But it seems like it’s that bottom one by speaker you show in the video. Mine’s a ‘21 A5 Sportback w/B&O system so same layout.
      I’ll try taking apart tmmrw.

    • @ubrsnl

      @@dustinskoubo8753 just slam the butyl tape on everything, it’s very good at deadening sound on whatever panel it’s on.

      @@ubrsnl good call! Thanks! I went and grabbed the tape from Home Depot before they closed tonight haha. Fingers crossed.

    • @dustinskoubo8753

      Fixed! It ended up being a bolt inside the door, right behind the bigger speaker, connected to the window arm (?) I think. Tightened it up. Not sure if it was from window tinter guy, or dealer that fixed a problem they caused on front fender. But while it was all apart I applied butyl tape everywhere. Thanks again

    Hey still no buzz/rattling noise? I read it could be the fuel line vibrating causing that noise. Also does it make noise on both of your doors? Mine I can only hear from passenger side door.

    • @ubrsnl
      @ubrsnl  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are others, for example my sunroof squeaks, but not from the doors.

      @@ubrsnlso both of your door rattle/buzz before this fix? I can only hear buzz/rattling from my passenger side door but only on uneven/bad roads.

    Hey have the noises came back?

    • @ubrsnl
      @ubrsnl  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, Butyl tape always stays soft and sticky so it’s most likely permanent

    I have Audi A6 2020 and it's killing me with the rattling noise, it gets worse if I play bassy music
    I tried everything with zero improvement I even toke it to the dealership and they failed to resolve the issue.
