You need to go back there with a foldable ladder pls
We will do better then that :) Thanks.
This is what I was going to comment! A collapsible ladder! I NEED to see what's up there!
@WW2HistoryHunter if you need a sacrificial canadian to do potentially deadly exploration sign me up. Free of charge. Lol I'd have gotten up there. I wouldn't have left till I did
@@StarFinderWebbme too…id find a way
@@StarFinderWebb exact same here!
The down wash from the rotors and the rocks surrounding give you kind of like a ground effect situation. Flying in a confined space like that, you need protected rotors so that it can bump into things. They make collapsible aluminum ladders that will fit in a backpack that will reach up that high.
yes i think you are right and there is also a strong draft coming in there i think. Thanks for watching.
@WW2HistoryHunter I look forward to when you guys go back and get up there. I'm eager to see you guys explore it. Quite a bit jealous as well.
LOL. I should read the comments before i post. I offered the same advice, almost word for word, albeit with more background.
I grew up in Germany. At the top of the hill next to our place was a bunker we called, “Queen’s Bunker” in it was an underground narrow gauge rail station where they could transport ammunition, personnel and wounded. According to rumour, there was an underground hospital in the area but we never found it.
Thanks for sharing and for watching :)
That was crazy , glad you got it back. an aluminum telescoping ladder would come in handy as Cynthia noted. Keep up the exciting work guys.
Thanks! Will do!
Might be worth trying a portable ladder , like a telescopic ladder ?
Well only time will tell i guess :) Thanks.
I was thinking the same thing :@)
You may want to consider a drone with propeller cages. It's more expensive but it may have kept you from crashing. I've been watching your channel for a long time and enjoy it each and every time! Thanks guys. I hope Bunker buster feels better soon. Please give her my best wishes.
yes we are going to get that for sure. BBG is feeling all ok now and thanks for watching and for being here :)
Dji do make a very inexpensive prop guard for the mini 2 and 3 drones (approx 20 euro), it’s listed on their website.
The reason for the very unstable hover is down to the drone relying on gps/satellites for stability when in all modes other than manual flight which I turn means you will have to hold the hover wit the sticks as opposed to normal mode doing it for you (Im Yet to fly my Avata drone in full unassisted manual mode and wouldn’t recommend it unless you have some serious amount of hours in the sim and feel confident with it.
The other issue is loss of signal. As soon as you turn left into that corridor the walls will block out any signal and the drone will try to return to home (with no satellite ref) and freak out so personally I would not bother.
I’m sincerely hoping you can get a ladder onto the site and explore further as it could hold some real gems (fingers crossed).
So glad you got the drone back. I like the idea of using high breaking strain fishing line as recovery insurance. Light enough for the drone to handle, but strong enough for situations like this. Would love to know where those steps and passage lead to. If there's an air flow, it may mean they lead to another tunnel entrance, or possibly an open bunker, that no one knows about, higher up the mountain. Moments like these a telescopic ladder would be a very handy thing to have! And as for that other mystery upward passage, now that the drone theory has been proven, time to check that one out. Looking forward to seeing what the next adventure brings! Cheers to you both! Stay well!
yes that could be the plan for sure. Ladder will be checked out for sure. Thanks and greetings from us my friend :)
Just made a similar comment before I saw that you had suggested a recovery line. Great minds think alike LOL!
Wonderful that you saved the drone. Please go back and see where that passageway leads you! Stranger and stranger!
We will for sure look into this more and find a way. Thanks Stephanie :)
Holy cow absolutely awesome adventure. The passage is probably undamaged as people have not been able to access that location for a while. Great job on rescuing the drone. Good job Eagle eyes on catching the drone.
So looking forward to your next adventure. Thanks for all your hard work brings us this great content.
Loved it and hopefully we can explore more there. Thanks.
the 90 degree entrance was also used for light security
Most likely so and thanks.
That had to be nerve wracking flying the drone up there, glad you were able to recover it. I know you will come up with a plan to get up there and I can't wait to see what you find. Thank you and EE for sharing this adventure. Take care and stay safe out there my friends.
Yes Allen , we will work some more there later and who knows if we can solve that mystery. We have another even crazier tunnel to fly in on the Christmas tour if all goes well and THAT is something i really look forward to. Thanks and greetings from us.
This was one of your better adventures, really enjoyed it. Recovering the drone was pretty good thinking.
Glad you enjoyed it
So glad you were able to get the drone back! Thanks for bringing us along
yes so glad for that. Thanks James :)
You almost lost your drone. Looking forward to seeing more. Cheers👍✌️🇺🇸
yes so close and thanks for being here :)
A thought from a former soldier & historian; this 'loft' is poured concrete over a hole in the rock. The most likely reason is- this is/was an ammunition elevator for the guns. The tunnels were for ammunition storage. Get a 'fix' on the holes location, then go above ground and find the steel door
Bingo! I think you are probably right. A local WWII-Era coastal gun fort has just what you described, though a little more mechanics as they were moving huge projectiles (16" diameter and about 3 feet long).
i see and thanks for being here with us :)
@@WW2HistoryHunter Of course, that is just my guess, but there's only one way to find out for sure! I will just have to wait and see what you find up there in the future. :)
That drone is a wonderful addition to the HH and EE kit list. Flying that must have been really hard, especially when you got the down draft and side winds, does not take much to throw it out, well done on the rescue. You need a collaspable ladder, the telescopic type, might be a bit heavy to carry up there, but well wprth the effort if you can get into that passage. To me, it looked like there were more steps going off to the left through the first doorway. Cannot wait for you to go back to this site and see what is there. Stay safe and well my friends
yes we think they are more steps and we will not surrender my friend. We will go back no matter what and figure it out. Thanks and greetings from us.
You should have used the propeller guards for your drone. They are perfect for flying in side of spaces
i see and thanks for watching.
At least you could see it was a staircase not a door . My Friend's and I climbed a building once doing it Acrobat style . We had 1 baseman 1 on he shoulders and another on his . The other 2 then used these 3 as a ladder . Using this method we were able to climb 6 stories .
wow must have been exciting. Thanks for watching.
An extension ladder might work; in the US they are readily available up to about 12m in length when fully extended. Alternatively, try to find the exterior opening where air is going in.
Thanks for tip and for watching.
There is a large draft in there which makes flying your drone very exciting. Exciting for us, but a heart stopper for you. Thanks again for another great trip.
Thanks for that!
wow thats amazing ! you have 100% got to go up there , a telescopic ladder or fold up ladder would be fine
We will find a way. Thanks.
So cool. For me, I think about the reality that the picture taken by the drone is a place that remains quiet and, in total, darkness . I think about the people who were there.
Great explore and thanks for being here :)
Love exploring WWII finds with you guys! Reminds me of when I was a kid and lived in Europe and my dad would take me to places just like this. Now living in the US there is a lack of historical finds 😢
Great video!
If you are still in moderately decent shape physically try the West - especially the 4 corners area. Lots of very old cliff dwellings there, and even more petroglyphs and pictographs - some of the latter are 12k years old. Just a thought. There are channels here on TH-cam that go out and see these sites.
I miss the deep history of Europe myself. The house across the street from my apartment was over 600 years old - and the same family owned it!
@oldtop4682 I am in fantastic shape- I am a martial arts practitioner. Unfortunately I live in the deep south and the best we have here is old plantations and maybe some burial mounds. Not as easy to take a day/weekend trip and go see stuff the way it is in europe, but I would love to take some time off and go see that!
Thanks and greetings from us.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Merry Christmas to you and your family HH, and may the next year bring you happiness and more great finds!
@@WW2HistoryHunter *_ You are such a Scammer ..... Flying the drone in that passage is a BREEZE coz my Sailor friends fly theirs from their yachts in 15 - 25 km Winds from the stern away at 100m.... and you're Bullsh!tting us you can't controll yours in a MINI-BREEZE..... Oh come on!! _*
At first I thought you had lost the drone forever. It was a smart idea to throw up two pieces of wood to bring down the drone and good that you succeeded without damaging the drone. You would probably have been very angry if it had been EE driving the drone instead of you.
No , there is nobody to blame either who flies it. Part of exploring and some losses there will be out there :) Thanks for watching.
Holy cow, you almost lost the drone!!! Eeeeek!!! But it did give us a glimpse of the upper tunnel, how exciting!!! I think you need to invest in one of those telescopic ladders.❤
Yes this was so exciting and we will be back Cynthia :) Thank you for being here :)
Is collision avoidance on? If so that would explain the erratic flying. In confined areas I disable all collision avoidance. Telescopic ladder like for caving will aid in recovery. Good job and good luck!
i dont remember. Will find a way and thanks for watching.
Interesting video, the drone is not designed to be flown indoors, it relies on gps to keep it stable. If you are going to try it again, I’d suggest getting the propeller guard for it, it protects the propellers from getting damaged and will just bounce away from the wall when it hits it again. Along with the fishing line to retrieve.
Thanks for watching.
been a while since ive seen your videos.. they have been missed... Such amazing content... well done sir,... wow id love to join adventures like this again..
Thank you for that and we send our greetings to you :)
That location is fantastic! And well done for flying such a small drone in a confined space without GPS - they generally don't like that one little bit. Thanks HH and EE!
Thanks for the tips!
You needed a collapsible ladder, maybe you could bring one next time so that we all can see whats up there. Thanks for sharing and as always " Good Hunting "
We will return for sure and figure out a way. Thanks my friend :)
can you just jump onto ledge and pull yourself up , cant judge how high it is from the video . Should be possible if your upper body strength is good
@@WW2HistoryHunter
@@jadehadfield7626 i think it is at least 3,5 pluss meters up there..
I'm so glad to see you spending so much time with you're partner,,he makes a great one to explore all of those neat places,, also I'm sure he's learned a lot about your guys history,,❤
Great to be out there and thanks for watching.
I understand completely; putting myself in your place, I would not risk a high-quality drone for possibly no reason. It does look fascinating.
yes better be safe then sorry. Thanks for watching.
Just amazing the hard work to dig and blast out these tunnels. The anticipation of what is up top ! glad you got your drone back and is still working 🙏 ! That's a great idea with the fishing line 👍it's worth a try , but then again if you could get up there to take a look , so exciting ! Thanks for taking us along, stay safe !!
Thanks 👍
High pucker factor on that one !!! Glad you got the drone back unharmed !!!
Good explore and thanks :)
Hello, let me start by saying, I love your channel. I'm watching from America. My name is Josef Braun and yes I am related (so I've been told). My grandfather came to America before the war and needless to say was persecuted endlessly until his death in the 60's. I love what you do and that you include your children. Very cool. Keep up the good work
Thanks for sharing and welcome to us :)
Good afternoon from Syracuse NY USA brother and everyone
Hello Earl and thanks for being here :)
Thank you for sharing your adventures in history
Excellent, thank you both for a super history journey. My son enjoyed this episode and says that as soon as he is well enough again, we will go back on our own hunting but thank you again for another superb idea on using your drone in a cav.❤
Cool to read and we wish your son a full and speedy recovery my friend. Thanks for being here :)
Amazing as always! Glad you could rescue the drone. 🙂 Wonder what's up those stairs!
We will investigate more and thanks for watching.
Glad you got the drone back. Great job on the rescue. Great job to EE for catching it. Also I hope you figure a way to get up there. Great video!!
Excellent Adventure, Thank you 👍👏
Thanks my friend :)
The drone did capture some good images of stairs on both flights; I'd be itching to get up and into that space. I hope you and EE find a way to satisfy my curiosity. vielen Dank, HH and EE.
Yes we are going to find a way no matter what. Thanks Paul :)
Hello HH & EE,
This is the first time I've seen a drone flying in the mountains.
These are interesting images that the drone makes.
What a disappointment that the drone crashed, luckily EE saved the drone.
What a relief.
Great recover of the drone. You can certainly fly a drone with a tether attached it is a great idea by EE. You will be able to recover, but it won't help with the stability. Wonder if a radio controlled helicopter would be more stable?
You can get stair climbing robots, if you could lift one up there with a pole you may be able to get to see where the passage goes. Other than that it is likely to be a ladder approach or climbers to set up rope access.
Good luck with your next attempt whatever you decide.
We will figure out a way to get up there no matter what. i am more scared of another tunnel we hopefully will do on the Christmas tour of all goes well. That is like 3 times higher so quite a challenge. Ladder could be a option but pretty tough to bring that thing up into the mountain there. Time will tell i guess :) Thanks my friend for your great support :)
That was cool. I've seen those areas in many of the previous videos you have done. That's exciting to see a passageway up there. That would be really fun to get up there. It has probable not been disturbed.
We will share more later. Thanks.
Great exploration! As a fellow drone pilot, I give you A LOT of credit my friend for flying in that tunnel! Not an easy task by any means. Great drone recovery too!! Glad you got it back in one piece. That's every drone pilot's worst nightmare.. crashing & recovery..lol. It looked like you were having some 'prop wash' when you hit that lip to the stairs. I would consider getting prop guards for your DJI too when flying inside between walls.. Great explore & I look forward to your next one! 👍
we have now and will share more later. Thanks for watching :)
Attach a small rope or string to drone like your underwater one then you can retrieve it, if it crashes
Good idea and thanks :)
Enjoyed the intro. Can't help but wonder how long it took to blast out those tunnels. Also, if they were any casualities during construction. In my opinion EE did a really good attempt at manning the drone under those conditions and with you nattering away Dad. 🤣 There was some very strong drafts inside those tunnels. Plus EE did an amazing job recovering the drone in a cool calm manner. You should be so very proud of him. A return visit is needed. Thank you EE and HH.💗💗
yes was a pretty interesting explore i think. We will figure out more there later. Thanks Girl :)
Was great watching you guys for the first time, I felt excited to see what was up there with you 😀.
Perhaps an extendable aluminium ladder would be what you need. Van come in short lightweight sections so easy to carry. Looking forward to seeing you both and what's up them steps in the next video 😁👍
yes could work well. We thank you for being here and greetings from us :)
wow what an adventure, you and EE's are very resourceful 🙂 and Im glad you got the drone back! I think EE's is an expert camera man, well done EE!
Loved it and we thank you for being here :)
The research is very interesting, I think that the drone only needs some propeller guards to be able to pass through narrow spaces without falling, or maybe they could have an Avata DJI drone; but anyway, very good research, a big hug!
We will look into it more for sure and thanks for watching.
Just discovered this channel , wow really cool, love what you're doing
Appreciate that and welcome to us :)
A reconnaissance and recovery mission definitely a passage and quite strong breeze
Great explore and thanks Karl :)
That turbulence was really moving the drone around! I am very interested as to what was beyond that door up there! I am glad you were able to recover the drone; very ingenious use of wood and cord to accomplish it! I have seen drones with protected rotors that can bounce off of walls and continue to fly, might be something to ask us all to contribute towards! I look forward to seeing more on these very interesting tunnels. Mind blowing what the Germans built in the many mountain sides! Thanks for taking us along! Stay safe and stay well!
We are dedicated Donald to investigate and find out more for sure. WE now have a plan and will hopefully share more soon. Thanks so much for your great support.
Well, that was an edge of your seat and nail biting episode. I'm very curious as to what is there with the doorway and steps. Where did they lead to? EE, you just about got it. Even a well seasoned drone operator would find it a bit of a challenge. Your drone needs bumper pads. You were very inventive when getting the drone down unscathed. Maybe BBG could go with you for a return visit. Thanks for another interesting WW2 adventure. ❤
yes Laura we loved to try that and will do more later if all goes well. Thanks.
Thank you for the video and nice work together
Our pleasure!
this is one of your best explores yet.
Thanks for watching.
That was awesome. On the edge of my seat. Super cool with your Boy. What a great Dad.
Thanks 👍
Nice job HH. What is the height to the opening? Boost EE up to retrieve the drone. Need to get you a collapse ladder for climbing. We used to use it in abandoned tunnel mines. Have a mine rescue robot for you, you can toss it up. Would use the older design to climb stairs. These are the places that need to be mapped before they are lost. Nice work EE. Great thriller video my friend. Stay safe and well out there.
i think it could be at least 3,5 to 4 meters ? Seems pretty high for us. we do have a crazy plan that we are working on so only time will tell :) Thanks my friend :)
Omg will you go back and go up to that passage way?? :O this was amazing. I'm glad you got the drone back!
We will check it out more yes. Thanks.
You need a ladder …we must. Discover where those steps go….
We will be back :) Thanks.
Thanks!
Very kind of you my friend and we thank you for that. Merry Christmas from us.
GOT to see what’s up there!! Well done getting the drone recovered! ❤️❤️
Thanks so much Scottie :)
That was so exciting! I can’t wait to see what’s down that hallway.
Me neither
Hi guys , so glad you rescued the drone 👍👍👍💜💜💜 I saw stairs and a door I think. I hope you guys are able to get up there to explore. Awesome job guys . Loved this 💜💜💜👍👍👍
Will share more from here later Wendy. Thanks :)
i find this stuff very interesting. must be a lot of endless fun. well done, guys
It really is!
That is so exciting. You could try a hunting treestand latter you can pack in? I'm on the edge of my seat!
Will look into that more later. Thanks for watching.
If there is a breeze coming through there, there would have to be another exit somewhere, would be good if you could find that, Hope you can find where it goes, this area look really interesting with all the tunnels and stuff. Looking forward to the next one.
we have tried to figure out where it leads to but have not yet done so. Will find out more later. Thanks.
For sure need a ladder to get to that upper area with the steps. Would be epic. Nice find!
Could be the right thing to do yes. Thanks
you can get lightweight rock climbing ladders fairly cheap, attach some grappling hooks (or maybe they sell those already attached) They are fairly light for a backback.
i see and thanks for watching.
These tunnels remind my of japanese tunnels in the Pacific.
Drone need it's propeller guards!
Thanks for the video, as always good job!
Thanks for watching!
Wow...that was so cool! Yes, there was a definite draft going through there, so that passage up the stairs has an opening somewhere. This was a great video and I am so glad you got your drone back. If you have access to a very tall but also very secure ladder, maybe you can take a look at where those stairs go to. I am thinking there is an opening up there in those rocks somewhere. Can you get up on top or is it not accessible. They cut those steps and that door up there for some purpose and wouldn't it be neat to find out? You just gained a new subscriber! But also, you and Eagle Eyes be careful back in there...please!! ❤
Well we shall do our very best to dig into this some more :) Thanks.
I can't wait until you actually explore the passage. I have been following your videos and watching the whole vids.
Bring this history into light my friend. As for the cave vent... idk.
Thanks for watching :)
You should tape the rope to the drone itself, then if you falter in your controls you can just pull it back. There is also a set of guards for the blades you can purchase for cheap. Cool footage. Always enjoy watching y’all’s videos.
ok and thanks :)
I'm excited for the second part.❤
More to come later :) Thanks.
An idea on how to get up there would be im assuming the passage is around 5 meters up judging by the video i would bring a 5-6 meter ladder and climb up there, btw love the videos keep it up guys.
Hi, like your videos.
Living in the netherlands we have a lot of WW history to.
Following your channel for years now.
Maybe you can borrough a telescope ladder to go to the secret passage.
Great suggestion and thanks for watching :)
I'm about half way through and I can thoroughly empathize with your plight with the drone. I've only just purchased one and have tried to fly it this afternoon. They are really hard to control, which is something you don't realize when you watch people's videos. I lost mine in a bush almost immediately, but did eventually manage to recover it. I'm actually on the verge of giving up to be honest as I don't have a lot of patience with the thing or my own ability to learn how to control it. Then it decided to start acting strangely, and wouldn't allow my phone to connect to it's wifi and I just gave up. Sigh
But that was an incredibly interesting adventure. It seems there must be another entrance to that upper tunnel system. Which means you could find it somewhere in the landscape... by using the drone, ironically haha.
Best of luck, and I'm very relieved you managed to recover your cool new tool for exploration 🙂
Yes there could be problems using them small drone for sure. Loved the explore and we will be back. Thanks.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Just thinking further, you'd think drone makers could make one that detects the walls of a hallway or tunnel and automatically adjusts itself to keep to the middle of the passage.
Actually I've seen that special forces have a tiny drone that seems to do just this, but you'd have to have a heck of a lot of money to buy one lol.
Awesome history thank you and merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Glad you enjoyed it
Cant wait to see whats up both those unexplored parts you found, waiting with baited breath from England, keep up the great work the both of you 😃
Thanks 👍
Commando mission to the downed chopper. A telescopic ladder would be a good thing. Good for some of your other explores as well. Take care guys.
He he , well we have now a plan , just have to finish off what we started. Thanks so much for your great support :)
You guys are the best.
Thanks.
You should take a rope with a grappling hook on the end to climb up into that area. You could tote an aluminum ladder in there, but it's a pain in the butt. I'm guessing that this went to a gun position judging by your map. Maybe it wasn't finished? The air flow may mean some kind of outlet to outside.
Very cool use of the drone! I remember the other site that you showed at the end, and look forward to seeing what is up in that tunnel! Great job EE and HH!
Yes we will look into this some more later my friend and yes we have a even crazier location that we are going to check out if the Christmas tour comes alive. Thanks.
I have that same drone. Love that thing. Cool video!
Great tool and thanks for watching.
How exciting. I bet your heart was beating hard when that drone crashed. I was thinking that you should attached a line to it somehow. Only thing you would have to worry about is debris on the floor that the drone could get hung up on if you had to recuse it. Now you’ve got my curiosity up as to where those stairs lead and what’s up there. May have to get Bunker Buster Girl for a return trip to try to climb up there with a grappling hook.
yes i really was gutted when that happened. WE will be back for more later Anthony. Thanks and greetings from us.
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks! For the next adventure!!😀
Appreciated my friend and greetings from us.
Great video. Try a telescopic fishing pole with a camera on the top section. You can get 5m and 10m versions. Just remove the top section as it will be too weak.
Thanks for the tip and for watching.
Well done guys. Great adventure. Great idea. Brilliant team work. You must get a ladder and look inside the door way.
That's the plan!
@@WW2HistoryHunter can't wait. I have a telescopic ladder. Heavy but easy to move.
You & Eagle Eyes always stay safe no matter what, but we MUST know what’s behind that door!!!
We will share more later. Thanks.
There's a type of drone called a whoop drone. They have funnels around the props to protect them from bumps, usually have a flip mode in case they turn upside down.
Cinewhoop drone is the word I was looking for
ok and thanks for watching.
Wow fantastic video
Thank you so much 😀
You have to go up in there! If I lived closer I'd bring you a foldable ladder rn. Please make a follow-up video💯
We will for sure and thanks :)
Hey bud thank you for your awesome footage the way you did it with the Drone every cave Explorer or mine Explorer should have a drone to show places where nobody can't really reach but the Drone can that be so awesome the capture history thank you again for your videos God bless you
Thanks my friend :)
Thought for the future, that drone is strong enough to attach a very very lightweight monofilament or light string line so that if you do lose it up in the hole you can pull it back out. Been there and done that very successfully many times while filming inside high celing attics for insulation inspections.
ok and thanks for watching.
Nice video as always. You can try-out a telescoop ladder to explore it more. I like to see it up there 😊
Thanks for the tip!
might need a model with bumper bars, a lot of cheap department store drones have them so you can bump safely into walls, but cheap drones also lack trim controls and cant hover in one place. Next best thing is probably a compact folding ladder. I rather suspect the tunnel goes to a gun position, but equally it may be a case that you entered via the escape tunnel, but the hidden trapdoor since rotted away and you may have a virgin bunker. It may have originally had some sort of fake rock coloured hatch there. - so if enemies entered it would appear to be abandoned and empty. But I am only speculating. Can you get one of those folding ladders that fold up to about 1m you can fit in your car and carry on your back? Some can extend quite a few feet.
Looks like a good video hook, for a future video where you come back.
Thanks for watching.
I agree with last txt ,you good an extendable ladder , aluminium one that's light to carry
I have the same drone. Should have used the dji propeller guard. That guard works good. I practiced with it by moving my drone against the walls and it is incredible.
We will sort something better out for next time. Thanks for wathcing.
This is so interesting, we can only wonder what they had in there!
WE will share it all later Beverley. Thanks :)
This is so interesting love your video's bro,
Glad you like them!
