Many thanks. This was one of the most informative videos I have seen about Thailand. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have now subscribed. Hope to see much more thoughtful and informative comment.
@@LetsLiveinThailand Did you know? I'm studying English by watching your videos... I'm also hoping to have the opportunity to live in Thailand in 2 or 3 years, so it's a win-win situation. And of course, subscribing is a given! ^^~~
Nice video it makes a change to hear the names of the places you covered pronounced properly, I have been lucky enough over the years to have visited most of the places you covered
Hi well come to Thailand enjoy your retirement here take care yourself and Happy everyday also you speaking the thai city's every clearing how long have you been in Thailand now.
Having had to get visas to over thirty different countries in my career, and after helping my husband get his original visa to the USA 25 years ago, I can confidently say that the visa process is a pain in the ear for every country. I might add that it’s likely to get worse instead of better. As Developed countries make tighter (and more expensive) visa rules, developing countries will want to retaliate or push back. Most developing countries are adopting reciprocal fees - so, if the USA charges its citizens $150 for a tourist visa, then US citizens get charged the same. Of course, countries that rely on tourism for a significant portion of their GDP are incentivized to keep fees lower - but they do that by waiving short term visas and making longer term visas more difficult. My own experience is that Thailand is unexceptional regarding visa requirements.
You are right! The high speed version Bangkok to Nong Khai isn't scheduled to open until 2030, though construction (and maybe operation?) of the Khon Kaen portion is well under way and projected to start sooner. The heavy rail version is up and running now (started in July), though, to connect to the high speed rail in Vientiane. Thanks for helping me to clarify. Sometimes the limited time available in the videos means details get left on the cutting room floor! @@LetsLiveinThailand Have subscribed and will be taking the current train from Khon Kaen to Nong Khai ( about 2 hours), then over to Laos, in January 2025. High speed from Vientiane to Luang Prabang.
Thank you for watching and so glad you enjoyed the video. I’ve lived in Thailand 35 years, so I’ve had the chance to live many places. Like many, I started out in Bangkok. Then we moved to Chiang Mai city, and later up North to rural Chiang Mai near Doi Angkhang. Now we’re living in Jomthien. Thanks again for your comment, and don’t forget to subscribe!
@LetsLiveinThailand 35 years, how awesome! Hope to get there in the next year. My wife and I just started our retirement adventure and Thailand is high on our list! I have liked and subscribed. Include your family in your next video, it's always interesting 👍😀
My husband appears in a number of shots in the “regions” and other videos. Once the same sex marriage registration starts in January, I’ll be doing a video on LGBTQ Thailand, and we’ll both present in that one. Thanks for the suggestion!
Bang Saray is quite nice. Much quieter than Pattaya or Jomtien. Nice seaside, good restaurants, and much less touristy. Of course, to really know its best to try spending some time there.
Very informative and well done, thank you

Hi, love your channel but I'm pretty sure there is no "fast train" from Khon Kaen to Vientiane. There is one on the way that will come from Bangkok.
