When we come to the USA we always aim for the trace. People and towns along the way are amazing. Jackson falls is a must stop beautiful but close to the road.

It comes to mind: Tennessee has the *Most Professional, Marine-like, Highway Patrol Officers*
I've traveled 20 years across the USA with my career and I've met a few State Troopers 😁
Tennessee State Troopers are the Best Professional Officers! They treat the Public with Dignity and Polite Respect - they deserve a 🏆
I have held this perspective since 1979.
    Great Job THP!

Have traveled this historic, pleasant route many times over the years on trips back and forth from Jackson, TN to Nashville, TN. Also, have had the pleasure of traveling the entire route from Nashville to Natchez and would highly recommend it for anyone interested in nature, history, or just a nice alternative to the chaos on Interstate 40. And please make time to stop and pay your respects to Captain Lewis on your way through Hohenwald!! 👼

Must visit now lol. Such a rich historic park needs to be observed by the public more often. Great sites to see!

I have traveled the Trace from one end to the other for over 40 years in all types of weather at all times during the day and night. Love this road especially on my motorcycle. Don't take this road if you are in a rush. Speeding tickets are expensive and the Federal Rangers don't put up with any crap. Several bicyclist have been ran over so make sure you have lights, reflective clothing and make yourself highly visible if you bike it. Be wary at stops, not everyone who travels it is a good Samaritan.

yes you can I used to live there been on the Trace several times some of the falls you have to hike too and there are some state parks that offer camping spots along the way...it is actually a highway that runs through it all no commercial traffic allowed and if I remember there is a 45 mile an hour speed limit on the road you pull off the highwya to see all the sites and some of those sites are a little hike..but I don't think you can hike the whole thing it is over 200 miles long
