Honest descent people, I love it.
We used to live about 3 miles before you get to this store when I was a kid. We moved there in 1992 & left in 2002. We had a 100 acre farm with cattle we raised. I was 8 years old when we moved there. I loved that area. me & my brother used to drive up there when in the farm truck to get lunch & any extra fencing supplies. We wasn't old enough to drive but nobody cared lol.

I am Tennessee born and raised,.we were eating hoggies,fire hot peppers straight from our parents gardens all our lives,we create our versions of mexican,chinese and anything we take a liken to.and now thanks to our friends in the mennonite community many of my favorite ones will be improved and shared for many years to come.
My Grandparents owned this store and ran it from many years.

Me and my husband and two of my friends stopped there many years ago.

This video is old, it was filmed within the first year of ownership, my dad (Harry Zollner)was the owner and my sister (Dottie Self) ran it with him, they sold it about 8 years ago. They owned it for just over 7 years. However before they sold it, it was booming!!! Catfish, frog legs, gator tail and live music on Friday nights. It was open 7 days week, serving breakfast, lunch and anything off the menu until closing. This was a happening place! ALL the locals supported it and so many folks cam from miles away for the burgers, hoop cheese, fried pies and soft serve ice cream and so much more! The most important service offered here was the atmosphere! Everyone was welcomed here. My dad used to open and cook breakfast on Thanksgiving mornings for a place for the men to get outta the house and for anyone to grab last minute items. It was a general store and restaurant/deli. Its heartbreaking to see whats happened to the place. Yea its a quaint little antique type place that you can get a ham sandwich about 3 days a week 🙄 unfortunately it will never have the love, vibes and sense of community it once did.
I'm a truckdriver,an go thru there sometimes but it's on the I/65 route. But if I can get a bobtail there, you best fix a BIG PLATE cause I will be hungry

It is the same in Ireland, many rural stores have closed, as people shop more in large supermarkets.
