Jab Se Shyam Sidharey Cover by Ivy Banerjee Live at Uttam Mancha Kolkata for Sangeet Ashram

Jab Se Shyam Sidharey is a traditional Thumri in Raga Kafi, Taal Jaut.
It's sung in lament of the void created by the departure of Lord Krishna from Braj bhumi.
This is an fan footage of my recital of this composition, alongside the illustrious Pt Jyoti Goho on Harmonium and Sri Pinaki Chakraborty on Tabla. My student Debajyoti Chakraborty helped me with my stage set up.
This was performed on March 23rd 2024 at Uttam Mancha, Kolkata for Sangeet Ashram's festival Basant Milan.
I have taken the path that I truly believe in- that Thumri, can be illustrated over a substantial period of time and it harnesses infinite possibilities within the aesthetic boundaries of a Raga, Taal or form just like kheyal.
