Kelly is a brilliant commentator. Her technical knowledge is fantastic. The food issue is interesting. As a vegan I regularly travelled from the U.K. to the U.S.A. to compete in another sport and a major part of my luggage was food. Customs was invariably a struggle 'We do have food for for sale here! What have your REALLY got buried in there?' Good food is available there but only if you can self cater. Milk is even stuffed into places where one would not expect it - bread, baked beans etc. The only thing I really wanted to buy in Walmart I wasn't allowed - a pistol and ammo. I've competed not all over the world, but in many places, and the U.S.A. is by far the most difficult to survive beyond a couple of days, and with the most customs difficulties.
Incredible bowling by Jillian and incredible consistency from Verity by making the last 3 telecasts. Wow. Jillian wins the title and the record for youngest to title. Amazing.
I remember the first summer she and John bowled in the sport shot league at Legends, (now Clutch), and she would come close to beating him. My son also bowled in the league. Second year she was beating John and I remember telling myself that this girl had talent. She puts in the work and so happy she finally got the PWBA win! She is just the sweetest girl and we all love her and are proud of her!!
Congratulations Jillian Martin, you deserved it and Congratulations on making history as the youngest woman to win a pro bowling event. You shined liked a star on the lanes and you still have much more to look forward to in your bowling career. Keep on bowling and show the world what Jillian Martin can do.
I'm not complaining. I have been watching the PBA since 1979 and am happy that bowling is still on one of the 1000 stations we have today. Even FS1 doesn't carry all the PBA events but it doesn't matter anymore. It used to be you had to be watching at 3pm on Saturday or you would never see it. Now we have youtube and can watch at our convenience with high def. That I get to watch this event proves televised bowling is better than it has ever been, especially for the PWBA.
@@ainelawlor5755 Bullcrap that’s bush league and you no that. You ruin the video for the people that want to watch the video if you know the winner there no point in watching. Your doing the bowlers a great disservice by doing that.
@@harveywallbanger2899 why would people who want to watch the video look at the comments first? And I hope English is a second language for you, cause you write like it is. If not, maybe you should spend more time studying and less time commenting.
Her release and footwork is nearly the spitting image of Tiffany Stanborough. Small figure, but generates so much power, then that release.. phenomenal.
The first time I saw her bowl, I knew she would be a superstar. She will be more dominant than Jason Belmonte was on the men's tour. Take my word for it.
I have been watching the PWBA for thirty years. While I don't think Kelly Kulick is as tough as Michelle Feldman, no matter the record, in 15 minutes Kelly has become my favorite female pro announcer. She talks so fast and lets loose with so much bowling talk I am ready to promote her to the PBA in place of Dave Ryan, who I like. About ten years ago we had a tall sub on my bowling team. He thought he was better than he was and would go and bowl poorly in the USBC Masters Tournament. Some time each night he would tell us how great Kelly is because it was obvious she was his dream girl.
If you hit high, some of the time today's balls hook enough to hit the 5 in the center of the ball so it doesn't deflect into the 9. It is something that didn't use to happen but is part of modern bowling. But a few 9 pins are more than offset by being easier to strike. Hitting high yields a 4 pin, so if sometimes it is a 9 instead it is no big deal.
I have been bowling for 42 years and have never had to deal with people hanging out at the end of the adjacent lane. I have also never seen that on any PBA event since 1979. There has to be a better way to take photos of the action.
Reminds me of the roll and hand of Pete Weber and Amleto Monacelli. Spare ball of Norm Duke. Highest quality of delivery. I think in college she will be keeping her trail leg on the floor. That's the only thing I see. In the interview, she mentioned quality practice. For me, that means getting a ball to look right, then switching to a different ball, and working on being able to predict the ball motion of ball #2 while throwing ball #1. I've also never used a spare ball, and throw dead straight at almost everything, to take the lane condition out of the spares.
Spare balls make it easier for certain pickups, increasing your probability of success. Spare balls are the second way to buy pins in the pro shop, not having just one is throwing pins away.
Both Kelly and Birgit mentioned marking the approaches to help count the boards left of the dots. I can’t imagine the center would allow them to do that. Bizarre thing to hear.
This was extremely common and no big deal years back. Players would get a regular #2 pencil and put a light "X" at boards 35, 40, and 45 if they had to get in that deep. Easily erasable. Don't see that happening much anymore.
I disagree with Kelly, the flat 10 is much worse than the ring 10. The ring 10 indicates you have the power and need to adjust. But the flat 10 indicates you don't have the juice to knock it down.
Can Jillian Martin compete in pro events if she is on a college bowling team? If not, then it seems she is better off going to a regular college and competing in pro events.
Hello again "guru" what juju are you talking now .... maybe you and Phillips should get together .... " The Guru and Phillips " sounds like a pair of morons to me ...... " The OBVIOUS BROTHERS STRIKE AGAIN " LOL ......
Jordan Richard, Birgit Noreiks, Bryanna Cote, Verity Crawley, and Jillian Martin had incredible Bowling experience in the ITRC Bowling Center in Arlington, Texas
Is it my imagination ..... what is "different" about Bryanna Cote these days ? Noticed it in the last TV finals too. Did she change hair color, braces on teeth or what ? She looks physically different for some reason .... did anyone else notice this ?
I've been a fan of Jillian Martin since she won the PBA Jr Nationals. It's scary how good this girls is! Congrats!

Amazing bowling from everyone! Why isn't this on FS1 ? Come on man .
Cuz pwba doesn’t make enough money to be broadcasted

this commentator is in love with Verity Crawley, let's just call a spade a spade :-)
Jillian Martin is soo good! She has the speed and axis rotation of Pete Weber, but has the power of EJ Tackett. She's a monster!!!
JILLIAN MARTIN is going to dominate when she turns pro.
Jillian is superb bowler! Her approach and release reminds me somewhat of E.J. Tackett. Way to go Jillian!

Kelly @ 1:02:15 - "She [Crawley] is the best executionist..."
I have never heard that word being used as a compliment.
Julian is amazing
I hope that Jillian will go to college after high school and compete on the PWBA tour part-time.
I believe the 7-10 is mostly due to getting to the pocket late causing the 10 pin and having too much hook causing unlucky swish leaving the 7.

Wow. That is just crazy to me. I’ve been bowling my whole life and I’m no stranger to getting way left, but I would never even think of doing that.
Great bowling by Jillian and congrats to Verity on a great run. Is there a reason for not trimming the heel? Seems like it would be distracting to me.
generational talent
Did Martin bowl with 14 or 15 lbs ball?
15
Crawly going to win championship
What equipment are they using. With all the talking going on, they never mention them
Does it count as a pwba title for her
