Godox sent me this mini flash to try out. Compared to the Reflex Lab Mini, I think this flash is meant for more power and someone who needs more control.
I recently bought the Godox Lux Junior specifically to use on my Nikon Zfc, and have been very impressed with it. Enough so that I’ve also ordered one of these im30s to go with my Z50. I have a Nikon SB-500 flash that works great on my Z5, but just feels too top heavy and wobbly on the smaller cameras. I particularly like the dial for manual adjustments. And though there is no TTL, and the auto’ has a fixed exposure level, it does work surprisingly well. On auto, if you follow the dial recommendations, it can be a bit too bright depending on the combination of lens and camera. On my Nikons it needs another full stop or two less aperture. On my Olympus E-M10 IV it’s right on.
What size lens can you use on the Sony without any shadow impact occurring in your image? Considering the im30 for my Leica Q2 and wonder how it will perform with the lens/hood combo on.
question, Just ordered the im30 for my zv1, it seems like its just washing out all the photos. Tips on how I can reduce that or is the IM30 just not what I need for this use case?
This is exactly the review i was looking for
Awesome!
Is this ok with film cameras?

Nice glad you like it! It’s a nifty one to have.

I was testing on my Sony with a 28mm pancake lens. Haven't tried a larger lens yet.
@ would appreciate if you could try it with something like the small G lenses, the 28mm f2, or even the 55mm 1.8 and hear your findings. Thanks.
i have the problem that my lens is too big and it makes a dark round part in the image
Yes that can happen when the flash is too close to the lens. What camera and lens are you using?
@@slicktoroid i use the lumix s5iix with the sigma 24-70

Zv1 has horrible dynamic range. Bump that shutter speed up. Lower that iso, don’t let the aperture open too much. Shoot in RAW and fix it in raw
That can happen with a flash! Try reducing the power setting.
can it do slow sync flash on x100s?
Good question! I haven't tried it. Will report back
How to connect wth x100v
X100V has flash… you don’t need this for that camera
