one thing i'd like to mention is that though we dont actually see the soul sand valleys in-game, there is a spot on the great hogs map that has an image of soul sand, implying a soul sand valley there.
In which cutscene?
@@gardenerguy2.065 i believe it was in the night beacon cutscene
It was also in the opening cutscene as well where it showed the beast sending the charge to attack, if you notice the nearest part of the map is soul sand
It's impressive to see how recently the Piglin Empire became so powerful to perfectly symbolize how they grew throughout the years...
The ancient piglins
Expectation:Evil, badass conquerers who do evil things
Reality:*sees a butterfly*
Beast:You are comparing yourself to ME!?
Devourer:Oh,how cute.I AM GOING TO EAT IT!!!
Unbreakable:Huh,wings.I could use that.CREATURE COME HERE SO THAT MY ENGINEERS CAN STUDY YOU.
Great hog:DO NOT IGNORE ME CREATURE.I AM YOUR NEW KING!!!
Meanwhile the seer:*sigh* just remember that you need these idiots, remember that you need them.
Seer is legit piglin palpatine
@@DjDeadpigpretty much
The Orb: (bro who knew being a parasitic void demon could be so hard :( )
@@sboy2044Exactly
As a pigman/piglin fan, two piglin theories makes me very happy.
Oink
I like that you point out fungal spores being an "equivalent" to oxygen, as there isn't any logical way anything would be able to breathe in the Nether other than that. Very good point.
Theory idea:
Notice how all of the undead mobs we team up with seem to be undead villagers. We don't see any of the hostiles from regular minecraft other then creepers. And don't forget, that the skeletons, zombies, and creepers were already friendly. So why aren't they now, and were did the other hostiles come from?
Well I think the answer is simple-
Like how the hero makes golems, the necromancer guy makes his own evil zombies, and probably destroyed the original homesteads.
The story of Minecraft Legends is literally a legend. It's a fantasized version of the actual event, with being sort of like a fairy-tale told by the villagers. So some parts of it are true, while other parts are made-up.
Its implied that the player's arrival to fight back the Piglins was their first ever experience with violence. They didn't know how to fight before, and thy followed the player's example to fight back against the Piglins. The Villagers also did the same thing, and the ones that took up arms became Vindicators.
Chances are, over the centuries this newfound knowledge of how to fight is what led to them possibly starting wars with each other and no longer being allies. Its implied by the final cutscene that the Vindicators in particular are much less friendly with their fellow Villagers than they used to be.
I dunno where the other mobs came from, or what happened to the Legends mobs like the tigers and big beaks either. Its possible some of them are just made up, like dragons in irl mythology, by the Villagers retelling the legends and stories.
@@lasercraft32 It's extremely likely that that the passive hostile mobs were completely made-up
@@sboy2044 Also true...
the fact that the structures that the piglins inhabit in Legends are somewhat ruined makes me think that they were occupied after vacancy for thousands of years, meaning there could have been a previous civilization there that constructed the initial buildings before the events of Legends
So basically the Old Builders/Old Ones from MatPat's theories.
I doubt that because the structures is clearly piglin styled. I think it's more of the piglins doesn't know how to repair the structures so the cracks keep piling up.
You make brilliant lore! Unlike game theory you take the most likely possibility for lore, while he on the other hand takes the most cluckbaity pissibility.
never forgot that game theory compared the 23 pillars on minecraft ocean monuments to the significance of the number 23 in islam
Legends is mostly not canonical to Minecraft, so making Minecraft theories based on Legends doesn't make sence
@@Yegor_Mechanicit is a canon villager legend in base minecraft.
@@Yegor_MechanicBut it would definitely explain more things if it was part truth, For example the ruined portals and also how the well of fate looks like an ocean monument. The Villager houses look like some trail ruins. Maybe stuff like the full overworld uniting didn't happen because maybe the hostile mobs never teamed up but who knows? Its fun to theorise
@@ahmed4363 the only truth in Minecraft Legends is that portals where built by piglins
Geiga- ... Ga ga ga gra gooo!
One thing I wonder is how compared to the player in legends, piglings are way smaller. Did they evolve to be larger?
The thinning out of competition makes food more accessible to pigs thus in less populated times pigs grow larger the more food they get maybe it is the same with piglins
Makes sense.
@jethrostebbins9577 I can tell you know your stuff you wanna hear what I know about minecraft legends and its connections to the other games
Its a legend, of course they werent small. They are taller than the player.
Child Soldiers
Why aren't piglins and hoglins immune to lava and fire like every other inhabitant?
-Striders walk on lava
-Magma cubes are made of...magma, and their shape lets them traverse the deltas
-Ghasts are immune
-Blazes are probably artificial creatures
So what's the deal with the pigs?
Maybe they did come from the overworld. But that would mean that they came a long long LONG time ago.
@@gardenerguy2.065 that was my first thought, and the one I'm still leaning towards. However if they've been their so long they should have some resistance? But they do seem partially adapted to the nether since they need spores to breathe.
@@Shark_Toothed_TherapodI don’t think they need spores to breath. But, I think it is physically impossible for them to evolve full fire and lava resistance because they originated in an environment without it. Developing fire resistance would require their cells to be completely changed, which is impossible to do at the evolutionary point they’re at.
The real Nether natives like Ghasts and Striders have probably been lava resistant since their common ancestors are probably fire resistance single called organisms.
@@Cass0wary_399 on needing spores to brethe. There's a brief cutscene showing (i think a medic) spraying other spore horde piglins and they inhale it. And in MCD the piglin merchant uses spores to breathe. But now that you say that about their cells, it makes sense for them to be unable to adapt to lava everywhere.
@@gardenerguy2.065my theory is that piglins were banished from the overworld a long time ago due to greed and hunger for power, as the overworld was a place without fighting. so they were thrown into the nether and had to get used to the environment, and presumably they are invading the overworld to take the territory that belonged to them as well, and to gather more resources that the overworld had to offer.
Personally found your theory videos yesterday and I loooove them! You're underatted and deserve more recognition. Also finally someone considers other games other then the main game! Like Dungeons was confirmed to be in the same universe (and Endersent in Disc 5 proves it too) and yet no one considers it! No one except you I guess. Continue making these videos, they're great and interesting. Like seriously you mind-blowned me multiple times and a lot
Personally like the idea of the Ancient Hoglins being these skeletons, it makes sense. Also I think we should take with a grain of salt what Legend shows since its a legend/tale told in the Minecraft world, just like with the Mobestiary we have to take things with a grain of salt, but overall theres always a bit of truth in a legend
Hope to see more theory videos in the future! Idk how to end this comment, just awesome videos 👍

The Devourer makes me very uncomfortable... its design and concept is so grotesque and the cutscene where it literally cannibalizes one of its troops makes me shudder. :U
I’m pretty sure he spits the Piglin back out
@@sboy2044 Still though... its unsettling.
Minecraft legends was the start of the world of minecraft, dungeons was things happend after the hosts left the Minecraft universe, and the downfall of ancient race of the builders and the overworld, and minecraft is the shape of the world after everything happend
I was having that feeling that each pigglin leaders are based off a deadly sin.
I was playing the Broken Citadel mission in Minecraft Dungeons, Echoing Void DLC. When I saw the Heart of Ender roaming around before you fight it. I heard Minecraft cave noises. Could this mean that the end is linked to the caves. This makes sense because the stronghold is underground, or maybe an enderman is making those noises. Pushing minecarts around. And that would make the ufo cave noise make more sense because, if it is involving an enderman, endersent, or perhaps the end in general, if that is true, then it makes a ton more sense.
Loreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee lets Gooooooooo your literally the only good minecraft lore TH-camr (I don't count game theory)
What about RetroGamingNow? (Who does minecraft deep dives.) Also why don't you count game theory?
Some stuff I'm confused and/or skeptical about:
-Why would the Unbreakable need to fungus to build structures? Even if he did, it's renewable, there's no need for deforestation.
-Why is there unexposed soul sand buried deep underground in the Nether?
-Why isn't there soul sand on the surface of the basalt deltas?
-Are you saying that striders evolved from hoglins? How does that make any sense?
I did not say Striders evolved from Hoglins, was a small break away piece relating to the topic
I’d say about the soul sand, maybe it was the corpses of ancient hoglins that got buried by time.
would be cool if you cover the piglins superior tech
Hello Mr piglin. I am Mr. Illager.
People underestimate the legends piglins. The Hordes would legit sweep the illagers.
@@DjDeadpig I must agree with you. The horde of the bastion is very powerful specifically.
Piglins would destroy the overworld, problem is that their leaders were bad leaders.
@@illager-to7ykyou are god damn right we are.
5:46 OK game theory all of the horde of the spores turn into the ZOMBIFIED piglins, because they kind of look like it
So theres something no one has talked adout and its the fact that the piglines had a beacon core which means they had to have killed a wither so how? Why? When?
I LOVE jour theories about minecraft legends and mimecraft dungeons.
tbh it would be interesting if you and matpat made a theory vid together
No it wouldn't cause matpat sucks at Minecraft theory
@@hsdiamond2113 so true.
How so?
Asking Hdsam
i mean it more like to give Mat a ,,new,, perspektive because i feel like he has been stuck on almost all the videos and didnt look at it from a new angle. When he makes a vid with him it would maybe give him an entire new look on the minecraft world
Can you make the theory of pillager that was in the minecraft legends, the one who they became later known as enemies in minecraft 1.14 update.
Man this guy literally takes everything and anything into account when making his theories. Fantastic job man!
Yea becuse game theorist missed the orb kf dominance in his newest and last Minecraft theory
Wait how does the Seer have the orb of dominance? I personally think that Minecraft legends is set 45000 years before minecraft dungeons then 2000 years after we come to Minecraft. That proves all of the structures in Minecraft dungeons in the nether dissolve in the lava. And in Minecraft there are only ancient bastions and nether fortresses left shattered all over the nether. So Minecraft dungeons is kind of like the medival era of Minecraft. Please can you cover this topic and I love your videos! Also for some reason piglin runts are treated very badly, so they must be like the poor. The runts need love man, the devourour ate a runt, the unbreakable shot one and the pidmadillo was almost smashed by the horde of the hunt's leader bro.
Minecraft Dungeons very likely takes place after Minecraft. The Ender Dragon is nowhere to be seen, the end portal is already open, the end gateways are accessible, and there's a statue of someone with an Alex skin on top of a dead dragon that's called "player_statue" in the files.
@@sboy2044 that does actually make sense because Minecraft is shown at the start of the game
@@heimdall9565 How does that prove anything?
@@sboy2044 The statue probably represents an ancient human just like the player, many believe that we aren't the first ones to come here and there was an ancient civilization of humans in the world thousands of years ago, i suspect that given how a dragon egg drops when you kill it the builders killed the dragon and kept it preserved in an egg and resurected it later by accident and it caught them off guard, then the dragon enslaved them and shaped them after the endersent, turning them into the endermen
Edit: I don't really know as to why the statue looks like alex so you might still be right
@@Babyyoda567 Why did they keep her preserved? And why don’t we need the egg to resurrect her? And if endermen are humans, why do they disintegrate into black smoke when they die in Dungeons, just like endersent? And again, why is there no dragon in Dungeons?
Happy 100th Video Xatrix lol
Can you do some research on why mobs are friendly in legends and hostile in other games?
The story of Minecraft Legends is literally a legend. It's a fantasized version of the actual event, with being sort of like a fairy-tale told by the villagers. So some parts of it are true, while other parts are made-up.
@sboy2044 doesn't exactly answer my question but I get what you're saying. Its like the Fnaf books: They answer questions but it's set in an alternate universe
@@tommyfoley414 Sort of? Stuff is exaggerated, like the size of the Piglins. The legend is meant to give the Overworld utopian feel, while in reality it’s likely that not EVERYTHING was calm and peaceful.
Hi madpat said in a video in minecraft legends is a half truth thinking the piglins are evil ones but instead the ancients stoled their netherite and try to fight back but couldn't.
What MatPat says isn't necessarily true. They're JUST theories. So many people treat his ideas as some sort of truth or something a lot of time, just because he's popular and charismatic. Some of his theories are pretty interesting, but a lot of times he just jumps to conclusions a lot, and his evidence is often hit or miss. He doesn't know any more than any other theorist.
@lasercraft32 I know I didn't in first warden theory
@@lasercraft32That makes no sense now. Don't you see how much Netherite they have in this game? And we are the only "Ancient Builder" in this game. there are no others in the story mode.
@@gardenerguy2.065Story Mode isn’t canon
@@sboy2044 I'm talking about the minecraft ledgends campain.
Two things.. One: the seer is female, (not trying to be rude but it says in her bio) and two she wields the orb of dominance, or it wields her... And that implies that the orb is very old because in Minecraft dungeons the arch-illager has it but we never knew its origins until legends, which could mean Minecraft legends is eons before dungeons and normal Minecraft she could have also been a host..
My theory about the great Hog is that a horde of the spore piglin breeded with a horde of the bastion piglin while the great hog was developing. The mother decided to marry a horde of the hunt piglin, which made him red. this would explain why he does not have his own horde
I think it's because he is literally the king of all piglins and horde, the leader of them all, this is why he doesn't have his own horde, since he's "possessing" all the horde,it wouldn't really make sense if he had his own horde y'know
Xatrix: "More evidence can be drawn from the eyes, which are a different color to the Great Hog's, being magenta. The same glow as the Endermen, and the other denizens of the End."
Snarelings: Hey.
Lmao true
@@Xatrix I edited my comment to fix a punctuation error.
I just remembered that Shulkers don't have magenta eyes either.
@@TheUltimateEnderlingi don’t believe shulkers are creatures but rather golems, they are always guarding end cities and ships in uniform positions (not randomly attached to the buildings like a barnacle would) plus their shells are clearly made out of purpur, and in dungeons end dlc their projectiles are used to open doors
@@SmokeFactory Fair point. And we make shulker boxes out of their shells, so they could very well be golems.
Great Hog / Conquest
Unbreakable / War
Devourer / Famine
Beast / Death
It would be instersting Xatrix if you could do Lore on Tears of the kingdom i really wanna see a theory on the depth's, also the way you you talk about lore in such a story-lore-like way is excellent really wish you could do this for zelda lore too.
Ok, expanding this metaphor for the 7 deadly sins, I think that the Great Hog represents wrath. His rage is unbound. He even chokes one of his top generals and throws him into a pillar with little regard for his safety. And when all of the Hog's generals are dead, he roars with rage, has the Seer enchant his weapons, and goes to fight himself, which turned out to be his demise.
So.. Great hog is wrath, devourer is sloth/gluttony, unbreakable is envy, beast is pride. While seer could be some sort of greed..using other Generals and even emperor himself as "tools" to conquer the overworld.
Minecraft legends had concept art of a new piglin horde that uses potions and magic would you make a theory video about it
Edit: wish you would reply
Those concept arts were for the Horde of the Spore, but a theory would be nice.
I believe that the Basalt Deltas were created by a nuclear explosion. Basalt in Minecraft forms when lava flows over to soul soil while coming in contact with blue ice. While the basalt deltas has lots of lava, it has neither blue ice nor soul soil. I believe that the power of what caused this nuclear accident was powered by souls. Apperantly, a big nuclear accident could cause a nuclear winter, which fits with the basalt deltas particles. Also, WHY IS MY THEORY NOT HERE I LITERALLY THOUGHT OF THE THEORY IN 2019 AND PREDICTED MINECRAFT LEGENDS AND... okay I'm getting crazy.
1. Basalt forms when lava cools quickly, but not too quick. Ice isn't needed for basalt to form.
2. Nuclear winter is a consequence of volcanic dust covering the Sun. No sun - no nuclear winter.
Sure Helenos, you crazy crazy man
The influence the ancient hogs left:
The unbreakable:
piglin bruts: tuffer piglins acting like leaders as their boss the unbreakable was killed by the hero and as tribute to the unbreakable the piglins left magma cubes in their treasure horde
Piglin nature: piglins are jerks to each other seen in Minecraft leadgends and thats their nature cuz piglin jokeys will ride their hoglins away from the piglins when they feel like hunting killing the piglin jokeys hoglin
The beast:
hes the lead hunter seeing as he rides a bigger hoglin and leads his army during Hunts
after his death the piglins have just been randomly hunting hoglins and eat them raw
The great devorior:
Fucker amplified the zombified piglin virus
since the hero lead an army of zombie villagers to help win the war the piglins that were bitten would retreat after the devorior died theyd turn into zombified piglins
the great hog:
The great hog was the king of the piglins so after his defeat the piglin bruts would take charge haveing other Burts be guards and keep piglins in line makeing the gold trades
I don't understand how resource depletion could cause the "fungal trees" to emit less spores (also why aren't there places in vannila minecraft where piglins will suffocate)
less resources means less dead stuff to eat for fungi, and piglins literally suffocate in the end and overworld..?
