    This is not about how cool or adorable your fakemon are, its about the time effort and love you gave them.
    My father is a college teacher (he teaches science) so i'm pretty much aware what you are talking about.
    Love every single idea you gave your starters.

    I love how all the middle evolution designs don't feel like the awkward teen years of the pokemon, and feel like an actual unique stage in the evolution process.

      In a way, it's kind of true to the pokemon roots. Gen 1 wasn't the "Japan" region, it just kinda happened to be there because it's a Japanese game with some creatures based on local folklore. Gen 1's theme more broadly is just "evolution", the core of the franchise. Some are stages of a single lifetime, some are generational parent and offspring, some are about origin of species, some are attempts at man-made evolution... It's baked in to every generation now, but back then it was the whole theme of the game. So in a parallel timeline, the sequels could have focused more on the sciency side.

    As a lover of science, I gotta say, this video is SO COOL!! I adore the idea of using scientific terms/ concepts to design anything- and pokemon is one of my favourite thing!
    I really love how much details you put in there, and how well the themes fit the designs and the evolution of the line ( going from potential to kinetic and then thermal energy was so clever ).
    I will definitely be looking forward to see what else you put up! And also to hear your process!

    Oh my goodness these starters are amazing! Firstly the photosynthesising leaf slug HAS to be a mon someday, and you did it a lot better than other versions I have seen, and you actually made it fit in with your line super well, having a food chain within one Pokémon line is so cool. Then with the fire starter I’ve always wanted a fire type based on kinetic energy, and you pulled it off really well. Then finally while I like the depth in design of the final forms of first two more, I love the first two taking a Mickey Mouse particle and making it a mouse, very cute and based solely off of first forms I’d say it’s probably the best. And I really like your style. I could go on and on, such an underrated channel.

  • @umwha
    @umwha ปีที่แล้ว +31

    I love the concepts! The grass being the energy pyramid is great. One idea I have is that the first stage should be the largest blob since the producers have the largest biomass, it gets thinner / smaller as it goes. Alternately, you can invert the pyramid. Start the grass starter as a the predatory plant, and have the final be the ‘producer’ since the producer class is the largest and the most planty. Having the producer class be the ‘best’ is a nice inversion of how we usually erroneously perceive the energy pyramid. The final evo can have a sun theme as well, give it solar power or chlorophyll since the thing that DEFINES the 'producer' class is the ability to gain energy from non organic materail/ forces, notably sunlight.

    • @dudono1744
      @dudono1744 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      For the ability i think chlorophyll and solar power are bad choices. Name wise they fit but they'd likely suck (unless it's an offensive pokemon, but that's unlikely). Regenerator would make more sense. The pokemon is based on autotrophs, which means it can "feed" itself so regenerate itself. Given autotrophs don't consume other living beings, so it would be a very defensive/passive pokemon

    Overall, I love all of these starter designs (especially the Slugant line) and the concept of an entire region of Pokémon being based off various science concepts is a really unique idea and I'm curious to see what Fakemon spawn from this idea (I really hope there is one based off of magnetism, nuclear fission, or even a line based around the amino acids). The one thing I would change would either Omnilusk or Vseproo's secondary type as Vseproo is object fully the strongest of the trio due to directly countering the other two starters. With its Water type countering the Fire/Ground Skirmal and it Psychic type countering Omnilusk's Poison Type.

    I had an idea for Skirmals signiture move. Frictive Flare - it's a 90 base power physical fire move that increases the weaker attacking stat by 2 stages and lowers the stronger one by 2 stages. Basically, if your special is higher you'll get more physical attack but lose special attack.
    This means that for a physical skirmal, it can use it's hidden ability to quickly go out of hand. With a special or mixed skirlmal it can use this move take less damage from foul play, while setting up a deadly sweep.
