I can’t put into words how much I miss Roy Hargrove, however what I do has is absolutely gorgeous work on the flugelhorn. Thanks

One of Roy's signature tunes, into which he never seems to have failed to pour his whole heart and soul, and thereby inspired his band mates to do likewise. I will never stop missing this extraordinary man and his wonderful musical voice, taken from us far too soon, whose lyricism was on a par with that of the greatest musician/composers we've ever known. I ran into him completely by chance one night at Smalls in NYC, where he was freely giving of his time & experience to help the next generation of musicians get a leg up. Had I known his fate then, I would never have let him go...RIP Roy, you beautiful soul.

In my opinion, one of the greatest jazz musicians died too early at just 51 years of age and because of a stupid ulcer is Bill Evans certainly a precursor of an intimate jazz, rich in classical culture, perfect from every point of view.

I thought it was Larry Willis on piano?

@@goodlife6145 It was Cyrus playing piano,at this concert. However Roy often played with Larry Willis at the Piano as well.

@@glennthompson4725 I'll say this: Their respective styles are similar, on these tunes at least.

      Definitely Larry Willis on piano.

I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt it's Larry Willis on piano because I was playing a gig with James Moody in Chicago at a festival a month or two before this concert and Larry was on piano with Roy.
