Judas Priest! 🤘🏻😆 - Since 1974 - 1980s NWoBHM, (* New Wave of British Heavy Metal) - They're still on tour - Just released new LP album ' Invincible Shield '🛡️ (* other songs, tracks, from this album): - ' Panic Attack ' - ' the Serpent and the King ' - ' Invincible Shield ' - ' Crown of Horns ' ✌🏻😸✌🏻
I highly recommend to do a chronological reaction to their studio’s albums(one track for each one). Is really interesting how they evolves album after album
I went to see them in 1982 when they were at their height of popularity and this album just dropped. It's fire. It's like they never stopped being young. Rob's voice is amazing.
Rob Halford (vocals) had quit Judas Priest in 1992 and announced plans to launch a new metal band Fight... he said that he wanted to explore new avenues of making music and his contracts w/ Judas Priest kept him from that objective. In 1993, Fight released the album 'War of words'... and it was more like Pantera... If u watch the music videos for 'Nailed to the gun'... 'Little crazy'... by Fight, Rob Halford dressed like Phil Anselmo of Pantera w/ the shorts and t-shirt... and was covered in tattoos... It was a radical change for the singer after 20 years in Judas Priest. Despite a promising start, Fight would only release 1 more studio album 'A small deadly space' in 1995 and it was a commercial disappointment... Fight would disband in '96 and Rob Halford formed a new solo band in '96 just as Judas Priest announced that they had a new singer - Tim 'Ripper' Owens. In 2024, Rob Halford is still fronting Judas Priest 20 years after their 2004 reunion... and original JP guitarist K.K. Downing has his new band K.K.'s Priest w/ 'Ripper' Owens on vocals... Now, we got 2 Priests and get the best of both!!! 🤘🤘
Ngl I’ve been listening to priest since i was 3 years old, I’m 23 now, their newest album is probably top 3-5 of their whole discography, it’s incredible
There are three new songs featuring Maynard James Keenan if y’all would like to take a listen. The songs are from the Sessanta EP.P.P. album just released. It features three songs, one from Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, and Primus!
Invincible shield has a couple headbangers in it, I highly recommend the serpent and the king, panic attack and invincible shield because they are fast paced and really shows how much rob still has in the tank vocally. Love the vids 🤘
The title track of their recent album "Invincible Shield" (released this year!) is even more in the face and metal than this one. In fact the whole album is fantastic and sounds great. And Rob turns 73 this year. I freakin love them.
I'm a huge Judas Priest fan and this album is amazing. All the band members are in their 60's and 70's. The drummer is Scott Travis (who joined the band in 1990 for Painkiller), the guitarists are Glenn Tipton (baseball cap and glasses) and Richie Faulkner (other guy going off lol), and bassist Ian Hill, who is the only member left from the original lineup (before their first album Rocka Rolla). Around the time Firepower came out (in 2018, the album before this), Glenn was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. With that said, he still composed all the riffs on this album and even plays from time to time. However Richie Faulkner does take center stage on this album a lot because of that, but I'm not complaining. The album Invincible Shield is fantastic with several bangers on there, with this song being one of my favorites. To answer your question early in the video, Judas was one of Jesus' disciples who sold him out for 30 silver pieces. The next day, haunted by what he did, hung himself. Their name "Judas Priest" comes from an old saying or phrase. Instead of taking the Lord's name in vain, you would say "JUDAS PRIEST". I.e. You just stubbed your toe and in exclamation you would yell Judas Priest instead of Jesus Christ. I believe the song is referencing the legal trial that the band got into back in the late 80's where two teens, stoned, decided to commit suicide because "of a subliminal message in one of their songs". The teens' parents took the band and their record label to court. The court ruled in favor of the band stating that there were no such messages in the song AND helped define artistic freedom and grounding in the legal system. I would like to request that song "Better By You, Better Than Me" off their fourth studio album Stained Class, which in my opinion rivals Painkiller in quality th-cam.com/video/5m53kiFVLIg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7-SG1w2jYF3-29yQ
Judas threw the 30 pieces of silver back to the High Priests and then he went and hung himself. The priests couldn’t use the money in the temple as it was blood money. They used the money and bought the Potter’s Field which was a burial ground. The “Judas Priest” is old English slang, a kind of exclamation, similar to “Holy Shit”. Mitch 8:26
Never heard this before! I grew up on Judas Priest because of my dad but this might be my favorite song of theirs now. This was DOPE! Saw them live with Dio back in the day. Incredible show!
Core Judas Priest songs you should check out. Living After Midnight, Dissident Aggressor, Freewheel Burning, Exciter, Hell Bent For Leather, Desert Plains, Ram It Down and one more, from their glam era, Turbo Lover.
I don't remember. Have they done Black Wedding?? It would merge both their thing for Maria Brink and Rob. Also if they're getting into some of the folks that have been around For-Freakin'-Ever, then Scorpions would be another catalog they need to check out.
Morning guys! Man that was really good! Hollywood is all "hold my walking stick and my Lisinopril and let me do what I was born to do"... (Or something to that effect). Lol! And truth!!!! That was great! Good choice baby owl and guys!! 🎸💯🤓
You guys should react "Doro feat Rob Halford - Total Eclipse of the Heart"-cover. It is on Doros new Album from Oct.23. Trial by fire - is from the new judas priest album "invisible shield". released in March 2024. Maybe a another reaction "panic attack, the serpant of the king"...
The new Priest album is fire. Check out Rob’s band Fight, the album War of Words was awesome. Also check out his solo stuff called Halford, the song Resurrection showed off his signature scream.
You should check out the cover of Painkiller by a band called Death ! Death is and oldschool Death metal band ( go figure) that yall should definitely look into . With songs like Crystal Mountain , Misanthrope , Pull the Plug , 1000 Eyes and The Philosopher . Plenty more greatness from them , but those came to mind . But.....I bet you wont lol !
Nice one. Original 4. Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Saxon. The ones still releasing stuff Is Judas Priest, Saxon and Iron Miaden. Im not sure about Black Sabbath. Judas Priest and Saxon released new albums 2023. And you should check out Saxon they wont dissapoint you. Promise.
Hej guys, great reaction (as usual!). I recommend you listen to more songs of the new album, Invincible Shield. After a few, I think you might want to reconsider the idea of Rob "taking it back a notch" - because he really isn't. Some have called it their best album ever (very high praise, considering it's up against classics like Painkiller, Ram It Down, Turbo and more), which may be overstated - but on the other hand, it's one of only two albums (the other being Angel of Retribution, which is definitely their most underrated album) where I like every single song. Another "old" band of the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) genre that just released a banger album is Saxon - I highly recommend you react to "Madame Guillotine" or the title track "Hell, Fire and Damnation", both are really good (as is the rest of the album - it's another one with not a single bad song). They're also touring with Judas Priest at the moment, and Uriah Heep as the third band in the lineup.
Funny about Ms Williams. Dig the song Miss Williams Guitar by the Jayhawks. It's about a rootsy artist Victoria Williams who I also recommend. We're in a world full of Williamses ha
Halfords lice here is exactly like in 70s . The high notes , which I honestly do not appreciate that much, is a later addition. In case of Ian Gillan It’s different as his high notes where an extreme challenging achievement not easily continued . That said Gillian still delivers great songs with Purple too.
Always afraid to listen to a band that I love put out new music because it’s usually disappointing. That said I like this enough to put it on a playlist 😊 Ozzy put out his album “Patient Number Nine “ in 2022. It won a Grammy for Best rock album. I’m not sure if it’s good because I haven’t listened to it for the reason I stated above lol
Yall gotta do Freewheel Burning by judas priest..ik yall are big rap n hip hop guys and rob gives you a touch of rap metal and its heavy with a great solo..yall will love it Love the channel
Even Jesus was an alpha by naming his followers... like "You are not more Simon, now you are Peter"... it was a little dumb thing for him to have two Judas in his entourage, but he had... and then... without Judas there was not crucifixion , so even the bad Judas was usefull to his case... really strange thing ...
Go old school. Listen to sinner, Dissident Aggressor. From 70s and start of thrash. Then Beyond the Relms of death and victim of changes. Early 70s with blues riffs and insane vocals. No band has evolved like they have
Guys, Rob hasn't lost a beat at all, he can STILL hit Painkiller every bit as hi an hard as he did 30 years ago. I have to pull Smokey up big time though. Heavy Metal and hip hop are about 5 years apart in their origins and they were BOTH born in my lifetime AN I'M 51!!!! Why you do me dirty like that bro? I'm old but not that old yet lol 😂
To answer your question Judas was not a Priest and Judas didn’t do anything after Jesus’ death. He unalived himself because of the guilt of betraying Jesus.
Judas wasn't a priest. Nor was he a douche. He was devout to Jesus his entire time with him. He never wanted harm to come to Jesus. His betrayal was more of an act of ignorance and frustration. Judas, like many, believed Jesus was there to overthrow the oppressive government and usher in a victorious time for the Israelites/Jews by the power and will of God. When Judas turned him in he believed he was pushing the hand of Jesus to do what he believed he should be doing. Ultimately it was the wrong decision. Once Judas saw his mistake he immediately regretted his decision and ended his own life.
Judas Priest still killing it in their 70's! Legends for real
With Glenn Tipton at 76 leading the way and sounding phenomenal. Rob...the Metal God.. that says it all..and Ian Hill ...doing what he does so well.
They were killing it in the 70's and now they're killing it in their 70's, full circle
Robs voice will always be my serenity. I just love hearing that voice!!! The metal god!
Glenn Tipton there still banging out amazing guitar performances despite many years with Parkinson's disease. Legend.
Nobody should expect an older band to match what they used to do 100%, but if you can go 90 or 95% then its all good
I hope I can still walk and talk by their age! I can’t even imagine still coming up with new music and playing and belting it out like this!
My issue is it sounds more like Halford not Judas Priest. I prefer KK.
This new CD they put out is pure FIRE!
Rob Halfords other band Fight is really cool too ! Nailed to the Gun and Little Crazy are rad songs .
Judas Priest!

Judas Freaking Priest 🤘🤘
Saw them live a couple of weeks ago in London and they were awesome, every bit as good as they were over 40 years ago the first time I saw them live.
Rob Halford has done some amazing duets. One with In This Moment called Black Wedding and one with Dolly Parton called Bygones.
There are three new songs featuring Maynard James Keenan if y’all would like to take a listen.

DUDES! You should check out "The Serpent and the King" which is also from their last album. That one is running flat-out Painkiller 2.0 level.
Why is no one mentioning the Halford band? Halford was badass. Resurrection, Silent Screams, Crucible, Betrayal.
Funny about Ms Williams. Dig the song Miss Williams Guitar by the Jayhawks. It's about a rootsy artist Victoria Williams who I also recommend. We're in a world full of Williamses ha
Rod's 72 Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Invaders is a badass song!!!!!
