What if the question is like this. Find the area below M? or like find the area bet. M & positive 1? Do you have to use the normal distribution table or not?
if both the values are to the right of the mean do the values for area work the same but opposite. Meaning the area values account for the amount of area to the right of your data value.
If I understand your question correctly then yes, the right and left sides are a mirror image of one another. For instance, the Z value of -1.8 has an area of .0359 to the left of it, the opposite Z value of positive 1.8 does have the same area of 0.359 to the right of it. Hope than answers your question.

How to find the area of a z-value that is greater 3 in or less than -3? It's not in the z table. For example is 4 or -4?
What would the probability be if z=-4 since theres no data from 3.5 onwards?
It basically means that the probability is almost zero, or very, very small.
Can you do this video again... but with the normal distribution curve where mean is 0 and std dev is 1?
How the standard deviation is 3.5?
Write down the four situations for finding the area under the standard normal distribution.
Question what is the probability it will take 40 minutes , not less than or greater than , exactly 40 min what will be the probability
