Before sarabhai it was a serial named 'filmy chakkar' which casted both satish shah and ratna pathak in the mid 90s and that serial was a massive hit at that time. Like if someone still remembers that serial

I started watching Sarabhai right from Nov 2004 when it started getting aired. I was appearing for my class 10 board exams in March 2006. I had a tuition class every Monday, but I remember running back home from the class every Monday at 8 PM to make sure I don't miss an episode. Sadly the show ended as soon as my board exams ended.
I'm also of your batch bro. Xth CBSE @2006. .... TV Series like...Sarabhai, Shakalaka Boom boom, Son Pari, Shararat, etc were our childhood memories

The only reason behind the low TRPs is people were under the influence of saas bahu type serials they haven't time for such master piece of comedy of it's time, in 2009 when SVSS re aired thn people noticed it but late feel really sorry that his magnificent show go off air coz of low TRPs 😔😔

मज़ा आया सतीश जी की बातें सुन कर। साराभाई वर्सेस साराभाई अपने ज़माने से आगे का प्रोग्राम था, और उसको सही ढंग से समझने और सराहने वाली माध्यम वर्ग की पीढ़ी क़रीब 10 साल बाद आयी। इसलिए वो प्रोग्राम तब बंद हो गया, लेकिन बाद में बहुत ज़्यादा लोकप्रिय हुआ।

The fact that Sarabhai was taken off air is a grave injustice to the TV. The show was at par with the humour of Seinfeld and Friends. The social satire was out of place during the Saas-Bahu serials

One of my favorite serials n I watched all episodes on air. So proud of it that I didn't miss it for some saas-bahu kind of show because for me it was a fresh breath and joyous.
Satish Shah is a brilliant actor. Still remember his performance in jaane bhi do yaaro, as a corpse 😅..too hilarious. And Sarabhai of course, my fav serial. Loved his character in it. Felt sad when they took it off air. Enjoyed both 1 and 2 seasons. Hope they restart it..but I guess the actors are busy in other projects.
