Hi doc. So my first kid was born 12 years ago by vaginal delivery. And 20 months ago I had my 2nd baby by c section because of sudden pre-eclampsia. And im pregnant with my 3rd one now, it would be exactly 2 years since my last c-section. Is it possible to do vbac? Is it true that the baby's weight can't be bigger than the last one?
Do you mean she’s changing her mind from repeat c section to trying to have a vaginal birth at 40 weeks? If so that is mostly dependent on her doctor or midwifes willingness to change the plan. If you’re asking about trying to have a vaginal birth at 40 weeks or later in your pregnancy even though you’re past your due date then yes most likely it’s safe, but mom and the doctor or midwife have to talk about risks and benefits and make that decision together. Thanks for the great question!
If I understand correctly you're wondering if it's safe to try to have a vbac 17 months after a c-section? If that is your question then my answer would be that yes, it's possible, but it very much depends on your story specifically and how the incision on your uterus from your previous c-section was done and how it's healed. I highly recommend finding a provider (OBGYN or midwife) that's supportive of VBAC and asking them to look at your medical history and your current pregnancy to give you a more concrete answer. Each person and case is different, but it's very important that you work with a provider that IS DEFINITELY willing to support you and a VBAC birth. Great question!

How often should you see a pelvic floor therapist?
How about vbac or trial of labor after 3 c sections?
