"Everything is sticky", so darn true lol. I've got to pick up the naps. Thank you Brad.
I use the microfiber rollers. I can coat about 30 deep frames and then have to replace it. The secret is to keep the roller out of the hot wax which is what you figured out also. If you find something better please make a follow up video. Thank you
Thanks, Happy! I will!
Awesome Info Brad Thanks for sharing, I always enjoy your watching your videos! Happy Beekeeping!🐝 🍯

@@ThatBeeMan My bad got the name mixed up with Bop Ross, the painter, thought you watched him painting with a roller LOL
Cool
Thanks for the information
Nice work bro, 4 inch paint rollers made of wool and polyester is rated up to 300 F or 148 C
Hey Brad, I believe the typical paint roller here in the states is made of polyester. I've been using foam but will try the 3/8 polyester to see how that works. Take Care!
Hey Brad, I'm not so sure it matters what kind of roller you use. I just use a brush, works well too. Thks for the vid
Yes, the foam one worked well. The foam slips off the roller in time though, that didn't happen with the nap roller. Thanks for watching!
🇺🇦💛💙🇨🇦 🙋 Good evening Brad.Sorry, I don't know the Canadian frame sizes: when you say medium, 3/4 and deep, what size are they? We use frames of 150 mm, 230 mm and 300 mm. And our top is 470mm long. But I read that there is a system where the top of the frame has a size of 480mm. The answer can be written in inches, I understand. Thank you!

@@ThatBeeMan Thank you
I add honey to my wax pot. 1 pound honey to 20 pounds of wax.
What is the honey purpose ?
@@blackberry5908 it mixes into the wax and the bees go for it like crazy. The smell…
@@3Beehivesto300ah good point kinda like some of the swarm traps that used honey ❤
Thanks Brad. I often wondered how much wax to apply. Someone told me not to use to much because if it gets into the dipple or lower part of the cell the bees will not work it out. Thus you will have a shorter brood cell. I use less than 1/2 as much as you were applying and plan to increase the amount I apply.
Hi Russell. " if it gets into the dipple or lower part of the cell the bees will not work it out." That has not been my experience. As mentioned, they will not clean out all the wax from the impression if there is sufficiently too much in there but that rarely happens to my foundation so I think I'm running right about where I want to be.
@@ThatBeeMan Thanks Brad. Next year it goes on thicker for me.
Where do you keep your foundation to keep the wax moths out. Thanks!!!
I find that my sea can shipping container is pretty moth proof.
they charge almost as much for mediums as they do for deeps
Yes, they do.
I use the foam style you started with but had issues with the ends being tapered I couldn't get wax to the edges and the bees would not build this out for me. I now pop the foundation out of the frame to get to the edges. I'm on a much smaller scale than you but it works for my situation. With the roller you had it seems to get right up to the edges very well. I did a quick search and amazon has some short nap 4" rollers "Mister Rui Paint Roller" it appears to be wool and polyester blend but I have no experience with them. I see you have the frames on what looks like cardboard? I have found parchment paper is great for any wax splatters as it cools quickly and comes right off so i just keep throwing it back in the crock pot. Thanks as always for sharing. There is something satisfying about watching foundation getting waxed.
Thanks for the parchment tip. I'm going to try that!
About how many frames per lb of wax?
You answered my question. 👍🏼. About 10 per pound.
