    This is great. Good Job Hondata! I just received my flash pro. The $250 is worth it even if I had to send it or do it myself. Some folks dont understand how much R&D goes into the process. Hondata plus flex fuel!

    I literally just sent my in last week and got it back this week. Paid $40 for shipping, put my ecu at risk of being broken, and paid $300 instead of $250. This news is very frustrating

    For all you complaining about cost, not everyone has the option / desire to rip out the ECU and send it away for 3 days. This is excellent news and I am looking forward to getting my flashpro now. Sending it out for days was the exact reason I was unwilling to purchase till now.

      This doesn't apply to me because i'm already jail broken, but i'm assuming most/majority of people figured the $250 was to cover the cost of the labor to jail break plus the cost to have your ecu shipped back express. I understand what you're saying but I believe that's the reason most people are gonna have a gripe about it. Regardless this is still huge news.

    So it costs an addition $250 on top of the cost of the FlashPro? If so it'd be nice if this feature was just a part of the FlashPro similar to the base tunes.

    • @HondataInc
      @HondataInc  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mechanix619 This is a new option for those who want to save time and money from sending their ECU in to Jailbreak. The Type R is the only platform that needs a Jailbreak.

    • @mechanix6191
      @mechanix6191 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@HondataInc I understand the time-saving element. The cost-saving at this point is marginal. I've owned two hondata products so I'm not bashing the company. I just find the pricing strategy interesting. I would've assumed because the flash Pro is not natively able to function with the Type R that the services for jailbreaking would be the hondata cost of business and not passed onto the customer.

    • @littlebo81
      @littlebo81 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mechanix6191 Many flashing solutions arent developed in house, they often require insiders job and companies have to pay third parties for it and price tag for that kind of stuff usually has many zeroes in it. Besides that Hondata is a business, not a charity, they work to make money and cover their expenses and investments and since we have no better cheaper or more convenient option for avg Joe to unlock the ECU i guess 250 isnt a big pain for CTR owner.

    • @xile6
      @xile6 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      But you gotta understand. The flash pro works with other hondas. So this is an extra step for the type r. So i dont see how it should be included in the price. It is cheaper and will probably get cheaper down the road. But still its something extra and will cost extra

    Hey all, I have a 2010 Honda Civic EX-L Coupe and I am really interested in getting a Hondata Flash Pro. My question is though my car isn't the V-Tec, does this matter?? I've put on a Skunk2 header back exhaust and a true cold air intake, it sounds great but I'm looking into more power now. Any suggestions??

      Justin Ristanovic don’t waste money trying to make your base model civic faster. Not worth the money for the little extra hp. If you had a newer civic with a turbo, that’s a different story.

    Hello everyone and I am writing to you from Italy. I have a FN2 where I have the hondata. I also bought a FK8 2 years ago.
    Can I also use my FLASHPRO on the FK8?

    If I have to flash back to stock will I have to buy another “instance” of the jailbreak when I want to jailbreak again at a later date or after I purchase the instant jailbreak I have access to the jailbreak for life?

      Once the jailbreak is complete that's it. You can tune and later return the tune to stock without having to do another jailbreak.
