- সামষ্টিক অর্থনীতিতে স্থিতিশীলতা ফেরাতে বিভিন্ন সংস্কারের পরামর্শ দিয়েছেন, বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের সাবেক গভর্নর ড. আতিউর রহমান। এর অংশ হিসেবে নীতি সুদের হার আরও বাড়ানোর তাগিদ তাঁর। সেই সঙ্গে বৈদেশিক মুদ্রার বিনিময় হার নিয়ে কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাংকের আরও সতর্ক হওয়া উচিত বলেও মনে করেন ড. আতিউর। পাশাপাশি যোগ্য স্বতন্ত্র পরিচালকদের দিয়ে বোর্ড পুনর্গঠন করে দুর্বল বেসরকারি ব্যাংকগুলোকে শক্তিশালী করতে হবে। টিবিএস’র সঙ্গে এক সাক্ষাতকারে তিনি আরও বলেন, টাকার যোগান বেশি হওয়ায় গ্রামে মূল্যস্ফীতি বেশি। আর কাউকে অর্থনীতির বাইরে রেখে টেকসই উন্নয়ন সম্ভব নয় বলেও মনে করেন, ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইমেরিটাস অধ্যাপক আতিউর রহমান।

yes, the hijack happened, and he is to be blamed for that because it was his responsibility to protect that money. but he was not part of that loot he did not got any single penny from hijack, he merely failed in his duty. He is one of the most honest banker of our country.
ইনিই প্রথম ব্যাংক নিয়োগ পরীক্ষা সমন্বিত করে আবেদন ফি শুন্য করে দিয়েছিলো। বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে বেকার বান্ধব সবচেয়ে বড় উদ্যোগ এটিই।
ব্যাংক লুটের সাথে জড়িত না থেকেও নিজে দায় স্বীকার করে পদত্যাগ করেছেন। অথচ গত ১০ বছরে কোনো মন্ত্রী বা নেতা দায় স্বীকার করে পদত্যাগ করে নি।
আমরা ভালো লোকের মূল্যায়ন করতে চাই না বলেই দেশ ভালোর পথে আগায় না।
অন্য কোন গভর্নর থাকলেও হাইজ্যাক হইত। এর জন্য উনার মেধা কমে যায় না। এটা আইটি ডেপ্টের দায়িত্ব ছিল।
রিজার্ভ হাইজ্যাকের সময় উনি ছিল বলার অপেক্ষা রাখে না। তবে ব্যাংকিং খাতে লুটপাটের মহোৎসব তখনো পুরোদমে শুরু হয় নাই। তখনো কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাংক এস আলম-দরবেশের কব্জায় যায় নাই। He was a weak governor but at least he wasn’t corrupt.
True, I had seen his statement in reality. He was a Genious Governor, and I respect Him Forever.

বুঝা গেল ভিক্ষুকের অর্থনৈতিক অবস্থা ভালো। তাহলে অন্যদের কি করা উচিৎ। চারিদিকে শুধু আলোচনা, যেখানে শুধু পেচানো উপদেশ। কিন্তু উন্নতি কি। কবে উন্নতি হবে? উন্নতি যদি ভবিষ্যতে হবে আশা করে তবে এই উপদেশ গুলি আগে মনে ছিল না? উপদেশ দিলেই যদি উন্নতি হয় তাহলে এই উপদেশ গুলি লিখে সারা পৃথিবীর সব অনুন্নত দেশে তাড়াতাড়ি দেয়া খুব জরুরি। অনেক অনেক ভালো উপদেশ।

অর্থনীতিকে স্হিতিশীল করতে হলে , ব্যান্কগুলু তাদের একাউন্ট হোল্ডারের জমা করা টাকাগুলু থেকে বিভিন্ন নামে কেটে নিয়ে একাউন্ট হোল্ডারকে ভয়-ভীতিতে রাখতে হবে যাতে ওরা একাউন্টে টাকা জমা রাখতে না চায়।
