It's been raining hard here since last night so I'm getting my Yardsale/thrifting fix from you today sweet pea. Another great batch of goodies Michelle. I learn something every single time I watch your videos!! Please do a list of research books. Love that idea. And those roses!!! ~ Pamela. Happy Mothers Day!
Another great haul and the book what a great resource ,thanks for sharing. This year on mothers day is our 35 th wedding anniversary so we are going out for dinner.Happy mothers day Michelle.
Happy belated Mother's Day! Great haul and info as always. I have really enjoyed learning so much about restaurant ware in your recent videos. Been surprised how lovely so much of it is. Growing up in the 60's and 70's I didn't really notice it. I was probably more focused on if my parents were going to let me order dessert! 😊 - Ronni
‘I forgot where I put it and it just re-surfaced again’ - I laughed out loud when you said that. Happens to me all the time and I’m not even a re-seller! I can’t imagine how you store and organize items you are selling...very complicated process no doubt. That Franciscan Blue Fancy is gorgeous. What a great company they were. Their legacy of artistic, beautiful designs lives on as we find, buy and use their wonderful pieces. Thank you for sharing this great haul and the history too. Happy Mom’s Day! 💐 - Robyn in Minnesota
Hi Robyn...glad to know your name finally lol...I have so many things and so little space:) I love Franciscan too...I haven't been able to part with some of the Tulip Time I bought awhile back. I am having company this weekend and while cleaning up the guest room I found the plate and said out loud to no one "OH...that's where it was" lolol..Happy Mothers Day Robyn...hope is a warm one up there xo
Yes, it is warm by MN standards. We reached 55 degrees today; a heat wave of 63 comes tomorrow! The Tulip Time pattern is so unique and retro cool, it’s a keeper!🙂
Michelle, another great haul. I love restaurant ware, so sturdy. I may have to check that book out. I'm embarrassed at how many reference books I have, they are fascinating to me. Looking forward to the next haul.
Sharon, Don't be embarrassed about the number of reference books you have. I have over 1500 on all kinds of antiques and collectibles. Would probably have twice that many if i had the money. David
Now I must find a pie plate!😁 I love the feel of a restaurant cup in my hand with hot coffee in it! A friend heard me say that and gave me one from a local eatery!!!! It fits my hand perfectly!!! Happy Mothers Day👵💖🦋⚘⚘⚘
Lots of nice restaurant ware. Just love it even though it’s heavy. Great information on the back stamps as well! Thanks for the fun and interesting information as always! Have a great Mother’s Day! Xoxo
I have that glass butter dish along with the rest of the matching serving pieces I have collected over the years. I also collected the blue corn flower Pyrex baking dish set. I have 2 of the pie dish, and just passed up another one at my local thrift store, I may have to go back to pick it up to sell on Ebay.
I had the matching 3 tiered tray to go with your serenade lot and I sold it. I remember someone in my family having that pattern. I had a lot of Star of David glassware too. Happy Mother’s Day my friend 💐
Fabulous as always Michelle!! Have a great Mom's Day! Love the roses, my favorite. You always give such interesting info on all your hauls. The pretty pink dinnerware looks great. TFS.😊 💖 👍
Wow, so many cool sets of restaurant ware and ironstone. It's interesting that I have found so much restaurant ware at Salvation Army and not Goodwill. That book looks amazing, and a good resource.
Good Haul Michelle .. Loving the Glass Butter Dish .That took me right back to my Child hood , We had one very Similar and a Sugar Dish to Match .Also Loving the Restaurant Park Lane Pottery .
Thank you for the info! Newer subscriber so binge watching your videos. I use those Syracuse china plates every single day. Passed down from grandparents. Love them. Thank you!!
Thrifting 101...Identify & Buy! Vintage Glassware Thank you! Yes I love these dishes as well. I’m not from NY although we live out this way. My husband is actually from Syracuse so the China came from his grandmother.
I always keep an eye out for reference books, but rarely find them second hand. Much prefer leafing through a book than scrolling a web page, but gotta admit, there is a wealth of knowledge at our fingertips courtesy of the " interweb". I want to hear you say thistle.😉 Happy Mother's Day!
Yeah Loran...I think I will still most definitely use the web. But being a lover of reading and also vintage...best of both worlds. Happy Mothers Day my friend xo :) lol on the thistle
Ahhh....Jan ofcourse!!! You my dear are always full of great ideas. I wish my slow brain had remembered it came from you so I could have shouted you out!!! People LOVE that idea...and I love it too!!! Happy Mothers Day my friend...do they celebrate it up north in CA????? xo
Nice Buffalo china,I just drove past the Buffalo China factory which is out of business now. I live a few miles from it and funny thing there are very few pieces available in the area for resale. Like the haul. Happy Mothers Day.
@@thrifting101...identifybuy3 My platters are kind of small. I think back in the day, they would have served a sandwich and fries on it or something like that. One of these days, I might take some pictures of some of my stuff and send them to you.
Thanks for the video! I had a similar glass butter dish in the 1980s, but when I opened the fridge, it kept sliding out of the fridge's butter keeper area and crashing to the floor! So now I have a plastic one! Still love the glass ones though! :)
Great finds Michelle! I just love restaurant ware ( maybe because I have worked in many restaurants through the years and eaten in many diners in NY!) and have a little collection myself. Great to cook with and virtually unbreakable! I once had large steak plates from Gallagher's, and my family ate off them for @15 years and not one broke( amazing in my household of all boys) Anyway, love your videos God Bless and Happy Mother's DAy
WOW Kathy...a set of Gallaghers plates...awesome....I am going to add a few of those pie plates to my collection. And I think I wont have any problem selling the Buffalo Undecorated Blanc pieces..they are beautiful in their simplicity!! I guess we will find out! Happy Mothers Day Kathy!! P.S.do you live in or near the city??? I used to go into NYC all the time, as it was just a 60 min train ride away...2 of my daughters live there...miss it xo :)
I grew up on Long Island and went to. F.I.T. on 27th St. A lifetime ago! My lifelong friend still lives in Manhattan, Styvesant Oval, and I visit every few years. Once a New Yorker, always a New Yorker!😎 I loved growing up there, but very happy to be anchored in the south now
Hi there michelle. ....another nice haul......love the book....I collected alot of bottle books recently. ..much info in them....great video...as always and you sold me on the macaroni and cheese comment in your video sounded good...lol
I really like the flower of that plate you only had one of. Great video , i haven't heard of any of those co. & patterns. I live new information. I'm on this fb called " old things identifacation " . Alot of new resellers & old resellers helping each other out with items they don't know what they are. I've been telling them to watch your videos (and scotts 😊) and they'll learn alot. 😊
I was wondering how do you store your pieces that you plan to sell? if you stack them are you ever worried about an earthquake or something that would break them all?
Well we don't get any earthquakes here lol..I have many cabinets...one of the reasons I bought this new home...I have lots of shelves also. When I run out of room I box things up and I also display pieces until they sell! xo
I love your videos, but trying to remember what all you tell us can be hard. It starts to run together when I'm at a Goodwill or Thrift store. I prefer using books for research if at all possible, because I can never seem to find anything online. Still watching for a set of dishes that I want to collect. Prefer the 1950s and maybe 60s.
