Once again we know why the seventies music is the best. This whole album is 🔥. Still kicking it in 2023 and. I still have the poster that came with it.
I was 10 yrs. old when this came out. Remember my mom stacking this album up with all the other hot records on the record player (Marvin, Curtis, Parliament, Bootsy, Bar-Kays, War, Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie, Jacksons, Isley's, New Birth, etc) while we cleaned the house on Saturday's just after watching the morning cartoons. Hands down, the 70's was the BEST decade of music. Nothing like it, wouldn't trade it for nothing in the world.

Chaka Khan is undisputedly one of the best! This song and entire album is a timeless classic. She has perfect pitch and delivers every time. I played this album til the grooves wore out and still couldn't get enough!!!!
Their best album in my opinion, every single track is unmissable. Bought my first Rufus record at 13 and 45 years later nothing has surpassed them. What a combination of voices, writing and musicianship. So happy that my daughter loves them every bit as much. Love you Chaka ❤️

Then the way she interprets a piece along with that seemly endless range makes for layers upon layers and richness that transports to another place when listening. The industry has never really acknowledged the enormity of her talent. .

Rufus featuring Chaka Khan ripped me up emotionally, Their songs tore my heart in two and sent me on a emotional roller coaster of love. This music is some of greatest R&B/ Soul music ever created. It's October the thirtieth and we are approaching what I like to call "the season of the midnight parties". The kids are up past midnight from eating so much candy from Halloween. The people (mostly moms) preparing Thanksgiving dinner are up past midnight making final touches. The gift wrappers(last minute shoppers)are up past midnight on Christmas Eve. And everybody's up around the world on New Year's Eve til way past midnight!!
Rufus starts out funky...ends powerfully...and then there's CHAKA'S VOICE all the way through! She and Rufus were beyond amazing! I especially love the "midnight, midnight" vamp that carries out the song!
The Rhythm is tight in the pocket riding with the melody! Rufus & Chaka! incredible.....and dont forget about ''everlasting love'' on this same album.....I miss going to the Wrecka Stow days!

This was the summer I turned 14 and being the neighborhood DJ, I got to do the parties for the older kids. Chaka Khan made me realize that girls respond to certain songs. You'd have thought I was gettin' payola I played so much Chaka and the Dramatics that summer.
Picture it...I'm an undergrad in Minnesota from the south side of Chicago. This cut comes out and takes over the airwaves and I am transformed. "You came into my life, and now I realize..." The times have revolved and I am wearing Chaka's hair again! This was the album and this was the definitive cut. Thank you so much for posting.

I seen them @ the Symphony Hall in Phoenix, Az., in the late 70's when this lp first dropped and u are right it was one helluva concert. none to this day can compare to what we witnessed back in the day (the real back in the day). LOL,the following week or two i seen P-funk @ the collisium in phx and witnessed the mother ship land on stage and it was DA BOMB!!! Gone are those days.

Saw her perform in a small jazz club called Mikell's at 97th St and Columbus Ave in NYC in the early '80's. I'll never forget it! She wore a skin tight dress of royal blue sequins. The voice is amazing!

My dad also had albums stacked up of all this great music from the 70s. I'm glad that he did that so that my appreciation for music can be broad like it is today.
