DIY every one of these are so pretty. I loved the mason jar inside the vase trick. And the kleenex hack is genius!! Great video, Liz! You always give such high end looks to ordinary things ❤❤
Good tricks and tips. For gauging flower length for your vase, my mother taught me to turn the flower upside down next to the vase to determine the height and that way you can easily cut the stem to the length you desire. Invaluable tip, as then I don't have to recut them all!
Hi Liz, I enjoy watching you and your attempts at duping high end decorating pieces. You sure do a lot of DIY projects. I started getting all my supplies together and getting them organized so everything would be easily accessible and easy to clean up and put back in it's designated locations. Then my health went down hill. That was 12 yrs ago. I've noticed that some of your pieces need a sealing spray for them to look more finished especially. The quikrete ones. 😊
All of these ideas are fantastic. Just a tip for the 'Kleenex' idea. I have them in every room in repurposed tissue boxes I find at the thrift store and paint to the design of the room. For your Vase idea, I buy the square Kleenex boxes. The tissues packed inside are a better fit, I find. I have them in a teapot in my kitchen. Take good care.
A DIY that I did for my outside planter was to cut down pool noodles (from Dollar Tree) and alternated them in the planter. Then, I was able to insert artificial planters or pinwheels or other decor right into the noodles. It saved dirt and other fillers. I also used this idea inside with two centerpiece boxes. Again, it was easy to switch out decor without much work. (The pool noodles work for a few holidays/seasons before needing to be replaced.)
Girl! The tissue vase blew my mind! With littles in preschool I feel like we should invest in tissue stock 😆 I have the typical square tissue boxes but REALLY wanted a way to fit the family size box inside....this is going to be a game changer for me! ... it's the little things 😆
Hi Liz, DIY! I love the two glassbowls glued together. Very nice dupe. I also loved the candle holder glued to vase, kind of a peachy color. Our DT are notbas cool as yours but I have been shopping more often lately and using your ideas to pick up new items that I see coming in.
When you cut stems get them into water quickly. Any plant will quickly form a protective film on the bottom. The water will stop the film from cutting off water flow up the stem.
I would like to see crafters utilizing items that already exist that can be found in thrift stores rather than choosing items from Dollar Tree or similar retailers. People complain about global warming and rainforests becoming extinct. But stores that keep producing/acquiring all of these cheap/inexpensive good are contributing to the problem. Just because something is available, sitting on a store shelf, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t think about the processes involved in getting those items in front of us. The raw materials (glass, wood , plastic, etc.) must be sourced and manufactured. Then labor costs to produce the items from the raw good. Then inventory and storage costs. Then fossil fuels to transport the goods. I will reiterate. Choose items that already exist. Better for the environment.
Love these videos! You should make the word of the day more challenging to make sure it’s really those watching who are commenting :) sometimes if you’re doing a dollar tree video and the word is dollar tree, it might be predictable!

Cut the fresh stems under water. Prevents air getting into the stems and keeps them fresh for a longer period of time.
