Just wanted to let you know, Fern that you inspired me to sell my first plant 🥺 my pilea, she was not bringing me joy anymore, I was not taking care of her properly, & she’s grown so much that I didn’t have a great spot for her anymore - the person who I sold her to was soo excited and it felt so amazing to pass that joy to someone else!
Hey fern, chuck some of your pothos (marble queen) in with your rooting syngonium cuttings, pathos have a hormone in them that helps other plants root quicker if you root them with some pothos. Maybe it might help it root a bit quicker
Just something to keep in mind with regards to your plants, the new tap water that you're watering with might have an affect on them. Since you moved to a whole new city, it probably has different tap water. Also, I love your plant chore videos!
at least, when you can't have rain water or demineralized water, you can have your regular tap water sit in a bottle for 24 hours with ceramic "noodles" and a drop of lemon juice or apple vinegar, it helps to get rid of chlorine and a little limestone.
@@wildfernI know this vid is a year old but: I put out a few 5 gallon buckets to catch rain water and then use a strainer and funnel to filter out leaves and pour it into old milk jugs. My plants absolutely love the rain water, it’s like liquid gold, and I always have enough to last me till the next rainfall.
Girl don’t feel bad about the gigas mine was so much of a pain, always sad, alway rotting, always browning & dripping leaves no matter what I did, I literally tried absolutely everything! I hope she recovers because it’s a stunning plant
@@wildfern yes! I struggled so bad with it in the time I had it! Yours looks like she’s doing well in water so I hope she continues to get better for you I just reaaaallllyyy struggled with it
About your Begonia, I have three exactly like that and I struggled for a while and then, I took it outside and left it rain or shine. All of a sudden its getting much better growing like crazy.
Oh God I would have never pick that out but I will make sure my cutting get planted the right side up... hahaha that's was funny Fern I'm happy for the night. Love Ya girl
Haven’t watched the video yet, I know it will be amazing. I’ve had the longest day ever and I’ve really been looking forward to watching this❤️ I can finally relax!
It's so nice to get your updates! Every video puts a smile on my face and I'm glad to see you thriving! Your plants look so great, and I hope your gigas fully recovers!!!! 🖤
I think the reason your humidifier reads that way is because the censor is on the unit and the area immediately around it is higher. As it gets further away, there's likely a slight drop as you move further away?? Adjusting it to max out a few percent higher than the goal for the whole room is a great idea to find a happy medium
Hello Fern I'm watching from Australia. Fern just something to keep in mind with your pots on the carpet. I've destroyed my carpet because the pots werent 'dry enough and they were sitting directly on the carpet. I know you are renting so you don't want to damage the carpet. You may need to get stands for those plants. Thank you for your channel
Great video! Your Pink Splash is sooo gorgeous! Fun to watch you do your planty chores while I'm doing mine. I don't seem to be able to go a day without cleaning my floors! Dirt and moss everywhere!
I’m glad your gigas is doing ok. Your thai constellations and syngonium look so beautiful! I really enjoy your vlogs and longer videos because your content is so chill, but super interesting. I’m glad to see you looking so happy. Keep up the great work, Fern! ✨💚🎉
Not to expose you Fern but where are your potting mats girl 😂 but loving the chores video so nice and chilled. Sorry to see the root rot on the Gigas, it made my heart sad! I’m sure it’ll come back bigger and better ❤️
Beautiful glad to see everything is doing good.Just a tip when water propagating if the jar mouth is to big use the mesh from veggies cut to size it hold up the clipping.Your nails are beautiful as well. I see you have gotten use to them now. I'm glad you have your baby there with you now.Happy growing and stay safe.
LOL on the Pothos. Don't feel bad. When I got my cebu blue cutting off Etsy the seller had rooted the wrong end of the three node strand. It was rooted and a new node had started to grow. in the end I cut it into three separate propagations and now a year later all three are growing very well.
I just bought some supeththrive last weekend, Walmart marked all their garden stuff down. When I pulled it out of the box it had leaked at some point in the shelf so it was a little crusty. Does it always have a strong smell?
@@lilymeowington9395 It definitely has a bit of a smell. I've been better about diluting lately, and I I think that's the key! After regular use over some time, my plants have never looked happier!💚💚💚
I did the exact same thing with a golden pothos, took me two years to realise. But in my defence my grandma rooted the cuttings the wrong way around and I didn’t question it 😂🤦🏻♀️
Sucks about the gigas but lucky you caught it in time to propagate! I lost a philodendron white princess to rot recently :( she went from thriving in a too small plastic pot to dying in terracotta in like 2 weeks. I only use clear plastic nursery pots for my philos now so I can stalk their root development lol. xx
Tap water propagation just doesn’t seem to work for me here where I live in the UK, rain water propagation seems to be working better for me so far 🙂 but perlite is still my go-to. Hope all the plants in this vid start thriving for you! Wishing you and Olive the best in your new place ✨
Yay for the Thai and gigas! Enjoyed your video. Wondering how long you leave your grow lights on, the ones in the lamp in your bedroom? I find when I move my humidifier around, it’s takes time for it to readjust to reading properly. Thanks for sharing. ♥️🪴
I have the same humidifier and it does exactly the same as yours, always showing around 10 % less humidty than my other devices so I kind of calculate +10 and set it up this way as well :) otherwise its great.
so, weird recommendation but tbh i don’t prefer my humidifiers in black because you can see water spots so much easier on them! I have to clean the outside if it so often and it’s just a bit annoying! random but something for you to consider lol
I have the same problem with my prop box and wet sticks! I had cebu blue and laniata sticks plus others.. some sprouted and I cant tell the difference in the baby leaves yet 😅
I had the worst time rooting my syngonium erythrophyllum all my props died. I tried water, perlite prop box and a moss prop box. It was winter - Subtropical Australian winter though so not too harsh 🤷🏻♀️ I have my fingers crossed yours decide to start rooting!
@@wildfern I’m sorry! I still have my fingers and toes crossed for you! I thought because they were a syngonium I thought it would be easy peasy but not in my experience!
I'm afraid that putting that humidifier in that corner is not very good cuz there is ventilation on top of it and it could take the humidity right out. Just let us know how does that work for you.❤
Watching / listening while at work, in the office. Filling in PowerPoint presentations (I hate it) and you do sustain me with your conten! While listening I realized I can cut a piece of melanochrysum and give it to my dear friends, who I can see so rarely since we live so far apart!
