Just bought it because of your recomendation. Use it as second monitor. All good! But at first I set 120Hz and got a problem - the black level was super high, no matter of my tries to lower in settings. And when I set 144Hz I saw this contrast you told about immidiatly. Thank you!

Very helpful video for my LG 38GN850-B. The monitor was not cheap and its nice to have it calibrated properly with the profile I wanted from Rtings.

Right click and Install ICC Profile
Next, open the Color Management from the Control Panel. Tick ‘Use my settings for this device‘ option and then ‘Add…‘ the ICC profile.
After that, go to the ‘Advanced‘ tab where you will have to click on the “Change system defaults” first, then ‘Advanced‘ again and tick ‘Use Windows display calibration‘. You can now close all windows.
I found this to be more convenient, it properly changes the colors without the need to install 3rd party software. Many thanks!

For Linux GUI, on Settings, there's a Color option normally where you can load / delete a color profile

How do you make these icc profiles, do you manually set them one by one?
When I do this, and we use the settings you suggested in the reviews, does it look like it was calibrated with a color calibration device?
But what if I chose color modes from the monitor's menu? I am a little confused about how the settings relate to each other. I brought a BenQ SW240 monitor and chose Rec709 to grade on Resolve.

@@Waleed-rs4mo pc thing, you can't even do that on the console as far as I'm aware. Of course I'm talking about the ICC profile. You can still try to tweak the monitor settings
Do you need to use both icc and Manual settings on the monitor to get good results or is it enough to just to look up some manual calibrations for the monitor?

Please explain the Displaycal calibration settings. I usually use the 11 thousand patch and need arround 8 hours for MSI G241. With Dell S2421HN it even need arround 10 hours. The first one hours I don't they just doing something. Sometimes the strage things are the lower the patch the more accurate in term of min, average, max delta e, but higher patch make higher color gamut coverage and volume.

Hey Techless, do these steps have to be repeated after system format or on a fresh windows install? Also your monitor reviews are always spot on & among the best quality out there. I purchased the MSI G241 due to my limited budget (+deal offer) and been so much satisfied with the product. The alterations after changing ICC reduced the innate oversaturation which the monitor tends to have and it makes a world of difference.
Thank you for providing the best in class quality content out there straight out to the point with no huffles or useless banter, it is very rare to see that in the TH-cam space these days.

do ICC profiles apply globally or is it application specific: for example will my monitor look calibrated when looking at the desktop or while looking at pictures in windows photo?

I have windows and the calibration loader is the calibration loader from logo kommunications. Is this why i cannot automatically load my icc profile on startup and always have to add it and set as default every time i turn on or restart my pc? or sometimes redo it when i change apps?
Another question i have is - in the properties section of photoshop or lightroom, should i check "legacy disply icc colour mangement"?

Looking for your advice. I purchased a few laptops a couple from Walmart, Target, and Costco. They are basically the same/similar laptops, HP 15.6/14 in the cheaper options with i5, but they have iRisX graphics from Intel.
I am not a photographer, but it seems laptops from WM have very much washed-out screens, not saturated dark/black images and much so when looking from the top/side. This is not the case in laptops from Costco/Target. Is it too much gamma? I tried adjusting in Win 11 using the built-in calibrater, but after a bit of adjusting, Win 11 keeps on switching back to the washed/whiter images.
What can I use to calibrate and overwrite Windows' presets, and make the changes "stick"?

Hi, I got everything calibrated but in the profile color management tool the monitors are reveresed monitor 1 shows as monitor two and vice versa. On the desktop if I right click the devices are numbered correctly. How do I correct this?

Everything is working as intended
however, the profile loads after start-up, In sign in screen, there is the old colour variation, after I sign in after a few seconds it loads the correct profile and colour shifts to right one...
Any way I could make it treat it as pre boot kinda colour profile?

If I have a DCI-P3 monitor, will DisplayCal limit the range to sRGB? I attempted with the Windows Desktop profiles, using a website that compares different Color Gamuts. My cheap monitor couldn't see the changes in most of the photos, but changing the .ICC in Windows made no difference. Was that Website off, was Windows color management off, or was the the .ICC off? Also, is the fact that I'm on a laptop making any difference? This is the closest I've had to the answers to these questions I've been wondering. Thank you!

I recently swapped my display panel ( to a new one, since the old one broke.I assure its the same piece of hardware) and all of a sudden my colors don't look right.
