    Thank you for the video!
    I had to remove hexagonal washers from the two poti before being able to remove the PCB. I don't think they need to be tightened a lot.
    Simply opening and moving cables and the connector fixed a noise that came up whenever I changed volume.

    Bought mine in 2011,only Issue is the cable connector in the back who give a bit of interference/crackling noise if i touch it(black RCA connector),and very small click when i open the volume from zero(the rest of volume and bass are without crackling noise like this one.).
    Don't understand why people saying this is garbage. This played at 100%(full volume and bass) for hours and never died on me.Maybe new build are cheaper,but 2010/2011 models one is rock solid.

    Thanks for the vid. I even removed the bottom pads to see if there were screws but wasn't paying attention to them pointing forward. Got it taken apart and smoothed out a caved in speaker grille.

    Guys, volume potentiometer needs to be cleaned with a contact cleaner like wd 40 for example. No need to open the speakers and it will also stop the cracking noise when changing volume.

      @TamarVijay 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Vaccum cleaner can be used to suck the dust particles. I have done it muliple time to avoid cracking sound. But, this time after cleaning dust particles volume also feels increased.

    I had the exact same unit, Logitech has gone downhill with their speakers :(
    In the case of mine, it wasn't a problem with the volume control, it was the power button, it was very scratchy when you went to turn the unit on or off. In the case of that, the only fix was cleaning it, and for my one, that didn't solve it at all.
    I even went as far as desoldering, cleaning, resoldering, etc...
    In the end, I got rid of it during hardwaste collection of 2021 (September I believe). Got myself some Edifier bookshelf speakers instead, loving those.

      You can fix tears in speakers. Get Aleenes tacky glue. Mix the glue with water 4 to 1 water to glue and paint it on the tear with nice thin layers. Do not gob it on thick. Nice thin layers, let it dry in between coats. Try and do both the front and backside of the tear.

    I've got these, they're silly loud, and they've got 3 inputs all up.
    The two on the back and the input on the side of the control speaker

    They are a good system, mine had a dodgy power on switch that was cutting out all the time so I fitted another separate switch I had handy with some jumper wires, still has scratchy volume control, but I just generally just set it then just make any changes from my computer.

  • @iLawfGaming
    @iLawfGaming 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    You're telling me it was as simple as the plug coming out? Man I hope I still have this in my storage closet so I can fix it. The plastic or rubber tube came unglued, which pulled out the cable from the back of the speaker. Had no sound coming from the speaker with the knob. I hope this is the issue and I just have to glue those two things.

    Thank you for showing this. I have the same speakers and after 10 years of using them the bass control seems to be not working ... They still look like brand new, even if the design is not something I would call nice. Anyway as a consumer of this product its sad just to buy a new 2.1 system. And you are right, so many different screws to take out and kind of bad cable management. They could have done the construction of it way better. Thank you again, this video is helpful! I have hope! :)

    for the likes of money I've spent on this crap, I would buy a decent monitor speakers from a good brand like Yamaha, not some computer peripherals manufacturer like logitech. Mine still work, I just cleaned the power switch with WD contact cleaner (iso-propyl alcohol can be used too, but I recommend something in pressurised container), bass and volume controls too. Pity you did not include that in your video. You also missed to add that there are nuts on these controls and they have to be unscrewed to remove circuit board, otherwise it'll not remove or break. Thankfully I spotted that on time. Good video for starters, missing most of important details though. Big plus for the workaround involving cable ties to secure the main lead.

      No monitor will give you this kind of heavy bass for sub 200$.

      My personal opinion... they perform much better then the price tag let assume.

    I just need to add something. This a great video for those who want a project to do but in my opinion no one should ever have to repair a bad unit after a few months or a year. I have had old stereo Sony and Bose speakers that have lasted decades without fail. What's the deal with Logitech and their crappy speaker systems.. Do not patronize this company buy another brand and do your home work..

      Logitech makes this exact model for over 10 years now, but quality has gone downhill, my brother bought z623 set in 2013-2014 or so, it had a different box and 200w rating, I bought mine in 2017 or so it had blue box, with rating of 400w on the box and neither volume knob nor bass knob have writtings under them to indicate which is what, also my brother plays his speakers at 70% volume with 50% bass and nothing for past dunno how long years, but when I play mine at same level of volume and bass - you get the distinct smell coming from subwoofer (not yet burning but I hesitate to push it) or last time when I did play it for 30 minutes. So even speakers are the same - my brothers older set has much better quality than mine
