I am soon to have this printer and am what the reason for starting with regular ink in the printer prior to putting the sublimation ink in it? Is it to get the software updated properly?
I bought mine 2 weeks ago from Best Buy. They gave a discount as totech support membership and sale price was 249.00 Then total tech discount. Sale price before tax $ 213.00 haven't set it up yet as watching youvideoio first purchased on 4/22/23. Had notice as arrived at the store and ready to pick up on 4/28/23. I work at a respectful hospital. And would not be home for deliverey. That's why I used the Best Buy store pickup. Besides that don't know if delivery driver dropping my stuff, an damn porch pirates.

which sublimation paper do you find best for this printer? Also, I tutorials where people just use regular copy paper instead of sublimation paper - does this actually work? I am newbie and just purchasing this printer now because of you.
Yes you can however because you have to modify the pegs on the chip clip it would be best to use tham after the 3rd party chips are finished or have a 2nd set of clips that way you can modify one set and use the untouched clips for both sets of 3rd party chips.( they will fall off of the modified ones)
Watching after the live, I’m here screaming NOOOO! Don’t do the firmware update! Lol. I did it on mine on accident & my yellow & magenta stopped reading 🥲 & I did everything thing correct by keeping the epson ink in & then putting in the sublimation ink, still nothing
@@HonestlySpINKing it sucks 👎🏾 I resulted to buying the regular ink for the printer just to use the chip & oh my 🙄 it’s annoying & costly. There have to be a better way

Firmware do not effect the chips. I will eventually do it to show what happens
I stand corrected with this model the firware does affect the chips because they are single use

yes you can............. does not matter if you used it once or 1000 times you can switch it to sub ink with just 1 printhead cleaning
