I don't agree, photography to me at least is all about experience. So you're a better photographer when you're having fun. Because it's an art process. Also both the thumb grip and the case make it easier to hold the camera and decrease the strain on your fingers so they actually do a lotta stuff especially when you're on a street photo adventure.
