I didn't know what to expect from the outside but that Inside is just fantastic, the design, use of light and wood and colour, fabrics, the ivy and those lights 😍😍😍 I also loved the clever shower floor, paving slabs and gravel/small pebbles 😊 but I absolutely loved your getting wet unravelling the cover, totally unexpected in the desert 😂😂
My favorite part is the framing, for sure! The wood looks amazing!😍 I really like the concept of this yurt, it's cozy and open at the same time. And there is so much light!😁 I start to like the outside bathroom, too.😂 Great to see you twice a week.❤

This would be so much fun! I love being in the ‘middle of nowhere’. Beautiful place. Only improvement I can think of is an outside barbecue. And a cover on the deck to protect from the sun and rain. Otherwise a fantastic spot to share with friends. 👍🏼😊💕

I was designing a (wooden) yurt in my architecture class for our MITES project (which is our big project that we get to work on for most of 2nd semester). It was going to be 40' in diameter with a loft bedroom, a wrap around deck, and car port for parking; and I had planned on furnishing the interior with a scandinavian design. Unfortunately I never got to finish the first checkpoint because the day that the first checkpoint was due was the last day of school before quarantine, which I had to miss to watch my little sister since my mom had to be at the hospital for an operation at 6 AM and my sister can't be trusted to be ready on time to make the bus (she's in middle school and I'm in high school, so I wouldn't be able to make sure she's ready on time). I didn't even have that much to finish for the first checkpoint; I only had to take few 3D renderings, add dimensions and labels to the floor plan, fix the height of the walls on the second floor, add the car port, and find a ladder or staircase on revitcity.com that was the height I needed or had customizable dimensions. Hopefully (if we can go back to school in the fall), my architecture teacher will allow the architecture 2 students who took architecture 1 this year to finish our MITES projects. Maybe in college or after I graduate college, I can get the opportunity to build the yurt.
Update: we didn’t get to finish our MITES projects from last year because all the computers got reset at the end of the year, but we did get to do a mini MITES project in the end of March through the beginning of May, so I just created my idea from last year with some slight alterations
The yurt & the interior r cool👍 Should add a small yurt for whirlpool/ fancy bathroom like many other airbnb places👍 But the location & surroundings .. r REALLY a minus/ deal breaker..
Would it deter you having an outdoor bathroom? I am asking because our cute as anything Tiny Cabin was built in 1928 on top of a rock (so now septic can be dug into the rock) after I finish the new modern interior we have thoughts of making it and AirBnB. On a lake in the mountains of Colorado. Would anybody rent it with a privy?
How is cellphone coverage in the area of the yurt and the other accommodations? I noticed on your Mac laptop an accessory, perhaps a mobile hotspot. Which cell network does it use?

Why Mongolian style?? The Grand Canyon are homes to the Navajo, Hopi, Havasupai, Kaibab-Paiute & Hualapai Indigenous peoples. Even the Zuni tribe has their creation story from the Grand Canyon.
