Great point Aysha! As a 1st generation Somali American born and raised in NYC, I grew up sheltered and didn't experience the real world. Now I live in Detroit Michigan, and I'm a homeowner and teacher, and I definitely feel like I've grown as a person in so many ways. Change is good!
@@jahnikkimaxey8742 wa alaykum asalam girl long time no speak! Lol ! I deleted all social media except Twitter ! I hope you and your family are doing fine. Alhamdulillah I'm fine thanks
@@Harlem2Detroit yeah, it's been a while 😊. Alhamdulilah, we're doing well. We live in Toronto now, but about to move to Windsor to be closer to Detroit. Glad you guys are doing well 😊❤️.
I am a couple years older than you and I was the same way about birth control growing up. I do believe our fears were justified because I do feel like a lot of millennials our age are starting to open up with their experiences with being on birth control as early as 14-16 years old and it was not great. A lot of hormonal imbalances, some struggles with infertility and for some women it went as far as to affect their mental health on top of all the physical stuff. As a mom of a soon to be 1 year old, my thoughts on it have changed just because you are your most fertile after having a baby and my husband loves me very much. I just couldn’t see myself having another one so soon, more power to the mamas that do!
I had an uncle who came up to me and my husband during my cousins wedding and he told my husband to bring me for exercise because i had gained so much of weight after childbirth. This seriously messed up my head and confidence. People just be nice and keep to yourself comments about people in general. Making such comments is never never okay in any situation.
the way I CLICKED this video so fast! Aysha, I love love that you spoke about your feelings on birth control/being careful when ovulating etc. Its so important for girls to know and for more Muslim women to talk about! Thank you for being candid as much as you were!
It was so nice meeting you in Toronto!! ❤ Thank you for bringing up the whole birth control topic too btw. I wish I had talked to someone about this before going on it for 10 years and then struggling to conceive. Alhamdulillah I’m a mom now ❤ but I always wonder if I hadn’t taken it then would it have been less difficult with PCOS. I appreciate you sharing your perspective 🤗
Salam Aysha I go through mental health issues too and I live in Sénégal where it is not seen as a priority. It really doesn't help me cause I feel uncomfortable talking that out because of the mentality here. I love you so much for the sake of Allah.
I’m senegalese too and we tend to minimise mental health (issues). But if you feel the need to go to therapies just do it Zeynab Also one thing that really helped me is tahajjud and zikr. Take care🤎
@@Shades707 ohhh thank you so much. It makes me feel better and not lonely. Therapy is very good but tahajud and zikr are the best. DjazakAllahou khayr may Allah reward you for your kindness. ❤️
Thank you for the birth control talk. I'm a married muslimah too and it’s hard for people to talk about it. I have been so confused about which one to go for but I have also been using your strategy
As a 34yr old I can say create a budget. DOnt rush to get the new car with payments that end up being more than the worth of the car. Find scholarships if going to college. Pay off all debt before getting a house. Basically follow Dave Ramsey LOL. As for birth control, I recommend all women find a Naturopathic woman provider who can you give holistic options and educate on the fertility window. WEre finally opening up about the dangers oF B.C.
I come out of birth control 💊, they missed my emotional, mood and weight. Since I stopped it, I'm more happier and I have long way to regular my period.
Let’s not talk about these interest rates!!! 😑 My husband and I were looking for a home to purchase, but after they started hiking up those rates… Nah, I’m good. Lol, but this was a cute video! It’s so warming to have watched you grow and evolve through just these few years I’ve been following you. ❤
Very Interesting Topic. Maa Shaa Allah. It really Helps🥺 I love the confidence and everything about you. Your body shape is unique and the fact that you do you is the best part of it❤
I know im late but the birth control topic, you’re absolutely right and disrupting your hormones is not the way unless extremely necessary…i believe in what was done in the old days, the pull out method and tracking your period Also, people forget that women should be curvy and men should be lean 😂😂 so don’t feel discouraged what others say, you’re completely normal…it’s others mentality need to be checked
35:23 honeypot foaming wash or their bath bombs are great for the feminine area. For extra freshness, Summer’s Eve has a great feminine spray for your panties.
Salaam Aysha. You girl are rocking. Forget the haters. I see a amazing person subhan Allah. Like ur phrase " little bit of coin off ". You are so brave how you got too much pink blush but u carried on. U are so right about live ur life. I wish girls in my family were allowed to live before marriage. U go girl i am glad u said that lots of girls look up to you. You are so right u so mature even more than me at 45. Wow Aysha u handled the birth control and body shape questions with elegance. That is a good question MAshAllah so glad you are content in your self. That accent talking about hygiene topic 😜
Aysha, smiling at you and the beautiful developments in life has me feeling all Salams. So happy for you. And thanks for the inspiration. If I may add regarding the feminine hygiene question, I use 'Down There Wash' and 'Down There, On the Go Wipes' which I got buy at Target. It boasts to be a Hoorah for your Hoo Ha! Its gentle ph balanced blend of Rosewater, Aloe, Calendula, and Sage makes me agree.💖

the best thing to do in your 20s is to start your own business. start small and grow it with hard work
27:07 don’t take that as backhanded… it’s possible she herself is insecure. It happens in marriage, especially after having kids

Vaginas aren’t meant to smell like flowers and candy
You really need to research more about those sprays cos they are not the best. Just washing the vulva and surrounding area is ok
omg im early i love i remeber watching you even in toronto you grew mentally so much its so beautiful to see
Glowing and growing! I love that for you! 🦋
