I had literally JUST started watercolours and struggled finding a good tutorial, and then you turned up just in time to teach me!
You have most certainly came to the right place! This man is an art genius. I have watched many art tutorials on TH-cam and Yong Chen is one of the best teachers! Good luck.
He is so encouraging and yet still teaches clearly in a way beginners can understand and intermediate painters can learn new things from as well.

Doing fur this way is flipping amazing. So simple and perfect. Always think you’re putting on way too much paint and then your painting turns out beautifully!

Hi Elizabeth, don't be afraid to slow down the video in order to catch up with your own painting work. When I was beginning, I would first watch the video straight through, then I would watch again, stopping the video every minute or so in order to try to follow him. I still do that on his oils. It made such a difference in being able to learn what he was teaching.

I bought both of your brushes. No problem with the calligraphy brush but the flat brush will not flatten on the edge. What can I do? I keep trying but it separates.
Does your paper stay that wet that you do not get blooms when adding those additional colors? I really appreciate your technique of painting the fur
Hi Eva, Yong would say that every painting has a step in it that he calls "adjusting." The means if a painting gets too much texture in it -- like a bloom -- before the painting is finished, you need to figure out different ways to manage it. But addressing the problem too early in the painting process is not constructive and just time consuming. Watch the video again and see when Yong started to make all kinds of adjustments -- lifting, adding gradient washes, softening edges, etc.

Hi Sylvia, I know it takes a long time. I sent the brushes to a fellow artist in Argentina on December 20, 2020, and she still hasn't received them. :-( But the calligraphy brush and flat brush can only be bought from Yong who gets them straight from the manufacturer in China. Hopefully, mail and people will be traveling across borders soon.
@@YongChen you are really so kind, I saw on amazon Italy some yasumoto made of little brushes, and one flat...is that?
