  • This tutorial shows how to make a DIY whiteboard with a piece of paper and book wrap. The whole setup costs almost nothing, and you can do it with remaining pieces of bookwrap you have laying around home.
    Check it in instructables!
    www.instructabl...
1- Cut the wrap to the size of the paper: in this case, it is a normal A4 sized paper. Put some weight on one end so it will not roll in itself.
2- Remove the protective paper, leaving the sticky side up.
3- Carefully place the piece of paper avoiding wrinkles. Use a piece of cardboard, or something hard, to secure that there are no wrinkles in the paper.
4- Cut the excess plastic, tuck in the remains of the wrap the back side of the paper, and we are done!
You can also print a photo in a large piece of paper and put the wrap in both sides, this will double the use of it!
You can also do this as a school project with your kids, use it for the grocery list, or anything that comes in mind!

You can probably also use laminated paper, or put packing tape flat on a piece of paper

@@imahumanandsoareyou1755 Laminated does not clean as easily. On my purchased whiteboard I can use just a wet papertowel or cheap baby wipe to get it really clean quickly. On my laminated pieces of paper, I have to use the dry erase solution or polish remover to get it very clean quickly. I thought it would be the same, but it's not.

This really is an amazing idea.!
    Thanks for sharing it.
This can also be done on a plank of wood, by putting white paper and then transparent paper over it.
This way, it can be used as a white board to teach.

    Could you use Saran Wrap?

    • @randomhacks1593
      @randomhacks1593  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You could use Saran wrap, but it is very difficult to make it totally flat. The book wrap is made to stick to a flat surface, and is a lot easier to work with. Any wrinkle will be a spot where the ink will gather and won't look so nice...

    • @randomhacks1593

This was not an April fools joke. This whiteboard is a functional one, I have made several of them, and it has always worked. You only need to use bookwrap: I use the self-adhesive one to keep the surface even, and it lasts for quite a long time!

That is the plan B! Making them yourself allows to put a background photo, make it the size you want... so it is more personalized than just a plain whiteboard :)
