I believe Spargo said that DK matchup is even but I could be mistaken. Even though you'd think Cloud would destroy the monkey, DK can easily gimp Cloud with cargo throw.
And that same Banjo took out Mkleo and other top players too. While I still think Banjo is a mid-tier, people haven't seen this character at the top level before and are definitely getting match-up checked. When I was watching Mkleo play against that Banjo player it was clear he didn't know that matchup.
And Toon Link, who in NA does Spargo have to spare against at a top level? There are none, but I bet that Toon Link player has plenty of Cloud experience. That's the thing with Japan, they play a lot of characters that the rest of the world considers "bad" and manages to take them to new heights.

I always questioned Leo's character choices recently, but now I realize his characters run out of juice like brawl PT and he just has to switch.
Yeah I've been saying this for a while, especially about the Byleth. People have learned the matchup and how to avoid a lot of Byleth's gimmicks.
Joker is still a good character but it's not as it was before pre-nerf and pre-fighter pass 2. And Joker requires a lot of precision and up keep to play at the top level.
