Just because it is wideband antenna does not mean it is good for all the frequencies in between the bands.

Nice to see results that show what it is good for - ebay sellers will sell anything to make money
I dont expect that all the antennas will have the same response unless they came from same factory

Saw this one on Amazon for 10 bucks and thought it might be good for T-mobile 2.5ghz, looks like it would have a lot of noise and would barely hit it. Thanks for this.

Nice lil vid. Please consider using a light coloured pointer.

Thank you for your videos, these are GOLD. Have you ever done similar tests on a Ultra-Wideband Log Periodic Antenna 740-6000 MHz?
I have been using one I purchased off AliExpress and have often wondered - exactly how good is it?

Are you sure, that your coupler is working so broadband? The HP scalar analyzer have a normalizing function, or maybe you can use the OSM calibration.

I am not sure... but from your video it looks like your have 1db/div ? If so, this antenna is actually VERY flat across this spectrum. Why do you say it would act poorly? Perhaps I am missing something. Thanks, great video!

It seems a difficult task to choose the right antenna considering all the different bands towers put out, especially as 5g increasinly is becoming a thing. Seems like there is a need for some kind of adjustable antenna?

Rather than buying one of these, wouldn't it be better to simply design and build your own using PC board material?

Could make a 1700 MHz to 2700 MHz antenna for LTE?

what is your aspect of "good" and "poor".
as you keep saying that it give the sellers give the impression that it will work across this span..as far as I can see it don't look to bad.
for something to work when it comes to antennas.. its so relative and all comes down to usecase and tolerances.
and ain't this antenna like 5 bucks delivered?
I just got the bigger brother... the blue version with an angled sma down the line... kind of bigger... and that were 9 bucks, with incll danish 25% VAT and shipping.
just checked it with my cheap vswr that sadly only goes to 2.7g and it stayed well below 2/1.5 and lower from around 1g and up to what I could see 2.7g

Always wonder how many of these aliexpress type antennas started life as a good design and then get betrayed by variability in thickness and composition in the ?FR4? substrate or layout by different PCB manufacturers.

For this antenna I don't think it will be especially sensitive to manufacturing tollerences. Unless they switch from say 1mm to 1.6mm FR4 for instance.

but the problem is 700mhz is missing which is the fastest in my area
I'm 5km away from the base station and I dont have external antenna because I don't trust online claim

A number of ebay antennas are just plain fraudulent in impedance match bandwidth. They seem to get away with it because so few people know how to test antennas.
