You dods, common man! You nailed on Snyder, that dark patina on one side can only be from tannins from laying in leaves. And bingo on the Packard, it also displays tannin patina!
.Yes beautiful pieces friend. That Agate Basin is my favorite. Here in Baja California Sur we have found some and also Two Clovis. BLESSINGS TO MY FRIEND.
Thank you! It's not an agate basin they just call it an (Eastern agate basin) yet the Packard is actually dated earlier than the agate basin! I'm totally fine with that! Thanks for the support brother!
@michaelwhiteside1011 Agreed! I had to have someone identify it for me. I only been doing this 2.5 years, I got a lot to learn yet! Wish I didn't start doing this at 35, but better late than never!
It's a Packard...they just call it an (eastern agate basin) even though the packard is dated further back and not even in the same complex as the agate basin lol....I had to do my research but an authenticator out of Oklahoma identified it for me! Boy was I happily surprised!
@eastcoastlithics1398 yes but they are thicker and form a diamond cross section in the middle of the point which an AB doesnt..and the flaking can be oblique, transverse, collateral or random, which is odd to me but wtvr 😆 and they are ground from base to 1/3 or 1/2 the way up the point!
Dang brother I really enjoyed that hunt, killer points all the way through. It amazes me at what you MO boys find. I’m definitely going to have to come out that way and find a big Clovis . That’s one thing left on my bucket list besides a banner stone!👍👍👍
Thanks I appreciate it! Well if yall ever make it up lmk! And I agree, those Cumberlands are something special we don't see alot of, and HUGE Pickwicks!
@@lelandshanks3590 I know that west Tennessee produces the big stuff, in the plains area next to the Mississippi River. I’ve found bigger points in this area but most are broken bases and tips. You never know what you’ll find though 👍👍👍
I know! It is my Favorite time to hunt honestly. I'm a cold weather person anyway so it just works out for me 😆 Thanks for the support...I'll be in some super crystal clear water tomorrow with snow on the banks and bars, gonna be fun!
@FlintnChirt Did you happen to catch the video with the almost 3in wide and 6in long etley made out of the best material we have? I'm pretty sure I seen you Comment on it. I still look at it daily
It was identified by an authenticator out of Oklahoma....it's not an agate basin..it is a Packard (aka eastern agate basin) yet they arent from the same complex. Packards can be oblique, collateral (which this point is) or random flaking. I have 4 Nebo and 5 sedalias none of which are close to this point. The very ground basil and halfting edges along with the pressure flaked Edgework was a dead giveaway I guess. I thought what you thought at first tho!
I hunt a few counties, actually one of my favorites is in your county..I almost went there this morning but I'm gonna hit it during the week, I have permission for about 3 miles of a creek on the northern part of your county! I'm always looking for new areas! That area is very thick with nice artifacts. I hunt every county from Marion county to as far south as Franklin and gasconade. I live just north of st. Charles county
Do you happen to have a collection of the points from the farm down there? I would love to take a look and see some undisturbed mounds! All ours up here ha very been plowed flat over the years!
@@pointsnpoles4640 our farm sits along the bluff overlooking the river bottoms. There are 4-5 burial mounds along the bluffs. My Papa has brought students from New Haven for years to show them and give history lessons.
Ohh I found plenty, just look at the videoi posted after this one......I just don't record many of them anymore since it kills the views. I been posting them in shorts...
Awesome finds, thanks for sharing your adventures with me
Thank you for the support 🙏
Beautiful finds!

@@pointsnpoles4640 so its basically the same shape but not associated with the same age or group? Thats super interesting!

Killers for sure. I would call that last a Sedalia or Nebo, hill. Don’t have the working for agate. Love the old lance points though.
