"Consider Joining" who invited NZ? what would they even bring to Aukus alliance? i dont see the contributing any tangible expertise or in any economically significant way, if they were allowed in they would just be leech. that said if they could take part in a significantly constructive way, i wouldnt be opposed to it but as it stands they would just be a sponge
The US said months ago that we are free to join. New Zealand is going to expand its defence force under this new government. They are going to make defence spending 2% of GDP and possibly buy fighter jets, new frigates, long range missiles and other stuff. So I think you need us in your alliance.
@@Jordan-du6fu the main issue is that joining aukus was mostly bipartisan in australia, the uk and the us the labor party in NZ have signaled a firm "no thanks not for us" stance in regards to aukus. If they are re-elected how many of these promises will be kept? the 2 political parties have very different ideas where they want to steer NZ
Dont worry Luxon isnt serious. I think hed rather untie Australian relations considering the "sponging" Australia continue to do in NZ. What with their banks etc 😂
Love our Kiwis, but they're a liability now, not an asset....
still got better gun laws than us..
If we were to join Aukus what would it be called any ideas?
it would only be pillar 2, so not worth of playing with the big boys
Stupid
New Zealand has no tangible assets to offer AUKUS even at Pillar 2. But do they even need to join? They're fine the way they are. Leave them to it.
Accepted.
Bullying gone bad.

Always better to have them in the tent for denfense stuff, NZ is on the fence more with China than the US and Aus woukd probably like.
NZ joining could stop China's influence on us
