Nice music video. :-)I have two Stage Custom Hip kits and can confirm: This drumset is - if you mic it the right way - a really versatile instrument.
Proof that you can record drums whit only two mics and a 2 channel audio interface Sounds good

The laundry in your bass drum is working against you....this smaller shell needs to breathe to produce any bottom the drum may be able to provide. Bass drums are not a laundry basket.
