I am always amazed at how naturally the dialog flows. Also, having someone cough during the courtroom scene was brilliant. How better to give the listener a sensation of a large room populated with dozens of people. I love old time radio &, although the subject matter of these shows is pretty light in comparison to other programs I enjoy, these shows are by far the best written & acted.
For those who enjoy looking up the biographies of the cast members, those mentioned at the end of this episode other than Bob Bailey were Lilian Buyeff, Stacy Harris, Chet Stratton, Will Wright, Marvin Miller, Hans Conried, Edgar Barrier and Parley Baer.
Thank you for sharing these. One of the most appealing parts of YTJD, besides the good writing and acting, is the noirish segue music. The original commercials would add to the nostalgia, but the episodes are still good without them too. BTW, it's kind of unusual to hear Hans Conried as a bad guy.

I just listened to Sam Spade (The Champion Caper) circa 1949. It’s basically the same episode as the Bennett Matter.
Darn. To start Part 2 you should have I used the phone call to Johnny from the fire investigator revealing how the building was torched.

One of my favorite stories! I really enjoy the set up between Dollar, Andy Chord and Bill Underwood during the first 5-6 minutes.
