Great video. Heading out to get supplies. By the way, Donkey Kong called and wants his mallet back.

This is fantastic! Much cooler-looking than some kind of duck box, too. Thanks for the well-made video. I’ve been watching a duck pair look after a nest in my pond here for a few weeks and after I saw them both somewhat aimlessly waddling elsewhere on the property today I checked out the nest and a snake was in it and the eggs all gone. Some broken eggshells remain so it appears that a raccoon probably found them as well. These guys return every year and I’ve never seen ducklings, much less the nest, so getting a safe place or two set up is high on the priority list. Thanks!!

Would like to see some type of sheathing or house wrap around the outside layer. To prevent the straw from getting wet and mildewed. Also a predator shield on the post.

Die Eier brauchen aber eine hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit. Klingt komisch, ist aber so. :) Gestalten Sie ein Nest so natürlich, wie es nur geht. Keine Dachpappe oder ähnliches verwenden.

We have mallards in our pond. I want to try this but I thought mallards nested on the ground. Is my assumption not correct?

Hi, you are correct - however mallard will occupy nest tubes which in turn increases their hatching success rates.

Makes me laugh seeing people using deep sea diving gear, in USA we go into frozen ponds with jeans and sneakers on (to install our duck hutches).

I hope you go onto the frozen ponds rather than into them which is what would probably happen here.
