This was my first W of the year. I gotta admit, aside from being surprised that I manage to cop, I also felt somewhat indifferent about winning it, like do I need this or what. After getting the shoes on hand tho, it really grew on me and the more I see it, the more I was happy with my W. I also wanted a grey J1 and this with the red tone just fit the bill - it catches your eye somewhat but also demand you to look at it a few more times to appreciate the combination/tones.
I copped for slightly over resell. they were a must since there's not many AJ1s with a different color blocking. You can't hate on white grey and a hit of red.

a different colored outsole or a sail midsole would really open this shoe up. for some reason they feel artistically cramped- too many black lines constricting it’s design for me
ye idk why but I think a colored outsole does a lot for a shoes looks/hype/resale, I feel like more people would’ve went for this if it had that ‘varsity red’ outsole. Same with the royal toes I don’t think they’re we would be as much hype if it had a black outsole

I own both unions. These have a completely different vibe but are definitely inspired by the unions, I’d say it’s the lesser known cousin as opposed to the “poor mans” union. People shouldn’t be shamed cause they’re not stupid enough to spend 2k on a Shoe made in China.

I changed to light grey lace and blend into suede grey perfectly
