Thus, St. John the Apostle says, “Behold what love the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God” (1 John 3:1).
Or that our sonship to God is a kind of adoption. As St. Paul the Apostle said, “When the fullness of time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption” (Galatians 4: 3, 5). See also (Romans 8:23), but we are not children of God's nature and we are not of his essence. The only one who is of God's nature, essence, and divinity is our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore he was also called (son). The mere word (the Son) means the only begotten Son of God... Thus it was said in the Gospel of John, "God loves the Son, and He has given everything into His hand. He who believes in the Son has eternal life. He who does not believe in the Son will not see life, but God's wrath remains on him" (John 3: 35, 36). And it was said in the same sense: “Because the Father does not judge anyone, but has given all the judgment to the Son, so that everyone may honor the Son as they honor the Father” (John 5: 22, 23). It was also said, “Just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom He wills” (John 5:2).
All of them - as it is clear - are verses indicating the Divinity of the Son. The same meaning confirms his divinity (through the phrase “the Son”) when the Lord said in his dialogue with the Jews, “If the Son sets you free, then you will be free indeed” (John 8: 36). It was also said, “He who has the Son has life. He who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5: 12). Thus, the Lord said about Himself: “Everything was given to Me by My Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, nor who the Father is except the Son, and to whom the Son wills to reveal Himself” (Luke 10: 22).
Thus, the phrase (Son of God) was used to refer to our Lord Jesus Christ alone
Who ascended to the heavens and descended? Who gathered the wind in his fists? Who wrapped the waters in a garment? Who established all the ends of the earth? What is his name? What is his son's name, if you know? (Proverbs 30:4)
And no one has ascended into heaven except the one who came down from heaven, the Son of Man who is in heaven. (John 3:13)

So in short what make us Son of God or Children of God is by the Spirit of God
He who is not received the Holy Spirit cannot be Son of God
And So the Very Design of Man was the Son of God but man separate and lost their way

The Son of God is God righteousness and divine nature
The word of righteousness must be turn into your own flesh by doing it

And According to new testament we will receive the divine nature of Christ by faith in Him and by receiving it we become Children of God

And Jesus clearly Said whoever sees him will also sees the Father in Heaven
And Who does not recognize Jesus

And For the Spirit of Truth
Is it also Christ like Nature
If you recognize Jesus Christ
You will also recognize The Spirit of Truth that is In you
In there is Truth in you or if Christ is in you
