  • If you own a BMW S1000RR (up to and including the 2019 model), you'll appreciate this how to guide for replacing front brake pads without removing the calipers. In this video we'll show you how the pads are actually held in and the components that retain them. Then we'll show you how to do the replacement with the calipers still fitted to the bike.
Each pair takes around 1 minute 40 seconds to fit, with a full pad replacement taking around 10 minutes to do. Obviously, if the brakes are hot you will need to wear protective gloves and it might take a little longer than the time shown in the video.
For interest, the pads being fitted here are the Brembo SR racing pads. A separate product review video is available on this channel.

Excellent video mate, also applicable for 2007-2010 Triumph 1050 Speed Triple which uses the exact same Brembo calipers (does not apply to 2005/06 which use Nissin calipers)

Thank You for video buddy 😉 just ask because You mentioned in one comment, why You didn't put some copper grease?

Just following guidelines mate, I know we use copper grease as an anti seize for nuts and bolts, not sure about its role with drive shafts.

That spring is super annoying. I managed to do the brake service myself but the spring gave me alot of trouble

@@TheBikeStig I think this design is on the sport oriented bikes for quicker pad changes, whereas the XR (even though sporty engine) is a tourer. I think there tourers are one piece pads, so caliper has to come off.
