Mega Fishing Line Muscle

We re-enact the fishing line artificial muscle demonstration originally performed by Dr Marcio Lima (University of Texas at Dallas). A giant lever action is capable of lifting a person using hot and cold water to heat / cool the fishing line.

I wonder how effective it would be if, instead of one really thick fishing line, you bundled a bunch of thinner ones together. I don't know if it would be as strong, but it would be able to change temperature a lot faster, making it more responsive.
