Gobbsmacked!!! besides the 3.5minutes breath holding marathon - the 35meter depth - goes up at once. I would have died 3-4 times. (not to mention scream when i see the dentex) Amazing sport.
Thank you my friend! Let's hope there's some fresh fish coming into our Maltese desert this summer, otherwise we will just enjoy freediving in our crystal clear waters...
Amazing dive time, and amazing shot, i wish you safe dives man. i consider dives above 3min dangerous , be carful and never dive without a good diver on the surface
What a crazy dive congrats Do you have contractions with such a long dive ? When i am solo i am always diving that i don’t get contractions since i found out during static that the contractions marks roughly the half of my maximum dive time
When there's no fish I go up after the first contraction or so. If there's fish I go through some, never pushing too far. That's why I'm still here :) Stay safe!
Yes definitely. I think fish associate it with cracking shells. Not all fish will come for it tho. Most will. But for example Dusky no, you must go and get it.
I am not interested in freediving competition. Spearfishing I went max ~50m CWT, I could probably go more but frenzeling fails around that depth, and I'm lazy to train efficient mouthfill. Max static last time I tried was some years ago, I think was ~5:30. So nothing impressive. On top of that I don't have much spare time and my only training is spearfishing, but I highly recommend to deep spearfishermen to do some fitness training as well. Only once a week will make a big difference, otherwise you have to be super slowmo like me, and have quite long surface intervals. Freediving competition as a sport is quite different from spearfishing. You follow the line, you don't equalize the mask, main focus is on the advanced equalization techniques, you don't have the gun or fish on the line, you just turn make a turn and go up. It truly is an amazing sport, and I admire the achievements of the top freediving athletes. It requires high level of regular fitness training, strict diets and mental preparations. It's not my thing. Spearfishing and deep spearfishing in particular is much more then just a sport. It's the hunt, it's the communication with the animals, the environment, the guts, the unknown...
😨 What a dive time!!! Your diving skills are amazing!🏆Nice dentex!
Thank you so much
