You know that an album will be awesome when they open a concert with a song off it that no one has heard before. This song is already a classic and it hasn't even been released yet. Awesome stuff. I missed them in Australia last time. I will not miss them this time.

Kaiserion has a very Maiden sound to it, I think. Just because something is melodic doesn't mean it's not metal. But frankly, I don't care if they're metal or not - they're Ghost, they rock out, and that's what matters.

I love Ghost, one of the best hard rock acts around. And there's no shame in calling them metal, some of the songs/riffs are crushing and groovy enough to put the heaviest bands to shame.

the curtain getting stuck reminds me of the scene on spinal tap were the bassist gets stuck in the pod and the crew spend the whole song trying to free him

Side note: my theory on the ghouls' costume is this; Going by the concept of Prequelle taking place just before and during the Black Plague, and with the new album being titled Impera - meaning to rule in Latin - it seems like an empire (later oppressed in history) was built by one of the first Papas to take dominion in Europe after the population was decimated, and they developed more advanced masks than the classic plague masks of the time. That is just my theory though! I haven't heard all Tobias has to say about it yet!

Great Ghost tune! Elements of Rush riffs and tempo changes -- channeling Alex Lifeson -- which I love. Not a surprise as Tobias Forge is a fan of just about every rock genre and every iconic rock band.
I love this new direction so much, I can't wait to see what else is in store 😈😈 these amazingly talented people have worked their asses off for years for this. the ghouls look SICK btw, don't hold onto 2016 so hard. Sometimes this fan base is so disappointing and toxic. If you don't like it, that's fine. But shitting on these amazing artists is just super lame.

Something I have noticed is that his vocals are much less restricted, so I think the change to the chin and mouth part of the mask was mainly to let him open his mouth a little more freely.
I wonder what happened at the beginning, because it didn't look to me like anyone was even tryin to pull the curtain down. Didn't see any shadow of anyone behind it tryin until the person at the far end finally started pulling some of it down. Maybe something wasn't ready on stage, or maybe it was really jus that hard to pull down. Either way Ghost still rocked!!
while I haven't disliked any of the new songs for the new album, I am still hoping that there's gonna be some new heavy bangers as well, but regardless Papa IV is fucking killing it. (not a huge fan of the new ghoul masks though...)

The new sound is awesome imo and I love the fact that they try smth new every album. The new look is steampunk/apocalyptic af and I’m all for it. The hatred for this band in comments sections is an unnecessary pestilence ngl. If you don’t like it go somewhere else, I say. Been a fan since Opus and still going strong.
Kaisarion has its roots in a song called wie Es Geht by German punk band Die Ärzte. It would be a gigantic coincidence if Forge came up with that himself.

There was an article out today/yesterday in kerrang. Tobias said the album takes place roughly in Victorian/industrial times
