Crazy how even in the video you can hear the difference between the tracks when they switch
It is very very loud in person.
I really wish they would've just retracked the whole thing!
There are low impact areas that don't need it much (the inversion for instance). But a couple of turns they didn't do definitely could use it.
Bigger issue seems to be a transition or two weren't installed well.
Betting they will. This was a rush job.
@@davefroman4700there is literally no reason to spend all that money to redo the entire coaster when it literally doesn’t need it and never will
@coastingalong it needed that retrack really bad because it would hurt for days if you ride it more than once in a day
@@Danrarbci was hoping for it to be rmc’d completely, my freind recently went on it and he said it is bumoy again
Not shocked you could feel a couple of those transitions.
The one out of the inversion even LOOKED rough. Not sure how the install team let that one slide. Hope they can do some overnight work to fix it up a bit while still being able to run it on operating days.
I’m genuinely worried those transitions are going to do more harm than good. It looks so jarring when it switches between the types of track, even offride; I hope that it doesn’t put too much extra stress on the trains and the structure.
i have a feeling that after this year it will close again for some more track..
@juicegodalpha yup, track got damages
I'm so confused. Why is there like an entire foot between the wood and steel?
5:24 I Love The Sound When The Train Transitions From Wood To Steel ❤️
I've been watching your videos for so long and just realised that either A - I never subscribed, or B - TH-cam unsubscribed me. Sorry about that. I'm back now! We HATED this ride when we rode in January. I forced my better half to ride with me and I almost had to sleep on the couch that night because of it! Glad to hear it has been somewhat improved!
They need to coat those wheels or something. That screech is insane lol
Thanks for the video!
Man that metal-on-metal screech is nuts
The hill on 5:13 is really brutal 😅 I really thought that my neck would break when I rode this thing😅 glad that I dont know how this coaster felt before the retrack!
I wonder if it might be a multiple year project where they want the ride open for the whole summer and then do more 208 track during the offseason.
What? With a layout that short they'd just do the whole thing then.
@@Brandon-qd2lb Well they didn't and those transitions from 208 track to wood track look sketchy (I know they are safe but not as smooth as titan track from visuals)
What offseason? It’s Florida lol
Yeah that is my bet. They did not want it down for a long period.
@@js384575 Even year round parks have off seasons. I live in SoCal and every park has off-season except Disney which I don’t bother with.
Why does it sound like it’s metal on metal . Do the wheels not have urethane coating ?
I'm not sure.
Because it is metal on metal lol all wooden coasters have metal wheels that traverse the metal running plates. This is common knowledge
For a brief moment at 5:19 you can see the upstop wheels at work (back right).
Mine Blower looks concerning. The transitions have a very large gap in between the wood track and steel track. It's scary. I'm honestly a bit scared that something bad is gonna happen to Mine Blower. I have no idea how RMC installed something like that, its very concerning. Mine Blower has a 5 inch gap between the wood and steel track, while Tremors has >1 inch gap between the wood and steel.
Relax it was done by RMC, they have years of experience with this stuff.
The plating handles the wheels, the gap is for several reasons, expansion and contraction, pressure sway and shock absorbancy.
Could you imagine a compact rmc that’s not single rail omg mine blower would FLY!!!
4:05 What's up with those incomplete looking transition points?
rmc was rushed and eyeballed the cuts lmao.
Was there on Sat when they were testing. The sound through the 208 sections is just screaming.
Can see where the track swaps becoming an issue. Either with something breaking or it needed maintaining a lot more
Now I see why there aren't more woodies in Florida. Looks pretty hard to maintain the tracks.
Nah Mineblower was rough from the start.
Yeah. You have a ton of sun drying the wood out but then have stupid humidity as well.
Not hard, just costly and time consuming.
Gwazi saw a similar issue.
Random question but which company is responsible for the ride now gravity group or rmc? When i mean responsible i mean like with toro and ttd intamin had to come down and do stuff
@victoriag9801 i would say rmc 2 but good argument for both. I think since the coaster been rough since day 1 funspot didnt trust gravity group and they said they loved working with rmc for arie force so thats prob why they went with the 208
they really did it that fast nice.
that transition at 5:14 ooft.
This is basically how I feel about the Grizzly retrack at Kings Dominion. They only retracked the first half and it was silky, butter smooth. The back half is the original track and it's just as rough as it had been before Gravity Group came in. I wish they would've just retracked the whole thing. In my opinion, if they had retracked the whole thing, Grizzly could be top 10 golden ticket worthy.
Couldn't finish the video. The screeching was way to much for me. But your videos are always fantastic! So keep it up. 🙌
they couldn't get those couple of transitions a little smoother?
No POV !? I still can’t believe how bad it was when I rode it in September 2022, literally the roughest coaster I’ve EVER ridden considering I loved it not long after it first opened in 2017 !
Also I can’t believe that not that long after I uploaded my vlog from last year the ride closed to have this RMC partial re-track lol
Tbh the whole coaster either needs a full makeover using custom built RMC iBox or just get some better trains as the Timberliners are awful, they ain’t comfortable at all even on on a good Gravity Group coaster
Park doesn't allow GoPros without approval in advance. We did a last-minute trip over.
"208"?
I hate how rediculously loud the 208 track is.
Odd they chose to not paint it
208 is never painted
This was a rush job from RMC.
I bet fun spot isn’t happy with this
It's their own damn fault for not sticking with Gravity Group
Says a lot about Gravity Group that their product needed retracking after 6 years. Always wondered why Fun Spot didn’t go with GCI again
I have a feeling it has more to do with the lackluster maintenance of Fun Spot. Most wooden coasters need a lot of constant care and maintenance for the wood track to run smoothly, and that's not even considering what the brutal Florida weather and this ride's year-round operations was doing to the track. You could see on the wood track just how worn down and dilapidated it had become. I really wish Fun Spot did a full retrack on Mine Blower rather than the partial because it really needs it. That remaining wood is just going to continue getting worse and worse and the transitions from wood to steel will as well.
This was not Gravity Group’s fault, it was the contractor Fun Spot hired to construct the ride.
Do they're gonna be lazy and not retrack the rest of the ride haha? You wanted a wood coaster better keep up with it.
I really enjoyed it as of June 2022 but... not sure how it rides on average. My all wood ride was smooth
rmc did a shoddy job no painted track and rmc should have done the topper track insted
@Victoria G I think if fred Grubb saw this, he would flip out. rmc should change the name of this track design to two ohhh hate. . But yes, I agree gravity gravity group should have been the one's to fix it. But I think they did do some track work on it, but I don't know why they didn't get to do the rest of the ride.
@Victoria G it dose indeed. it seems it's cheaper steel and not painted but i need a tetanus shot just from looking at it
@@seadog1988 I guess they had a falling out. This ride was intriguing when in it's original state, but it will become just another of dozens of steel coasters if it becomes all steel. At which point, I will be no longer interested. I am a die hard woodie fan. Life is getting hard for us old folks
And it's already closed again for the pothole lmfao
It’s like riding on concrete
I was there yesterday when they opened... the sound was unbearable in the new track sections. I used to love the sound of the original Mine Blower. I had to wear ear plugs to stand near the new sections. I wish they had done something with new wood topping as well. Mine Blower being a woodie that inverted is what attracted me to it in the first place. Now, it's damaged, and will be even worse if they do the entire ride with it. I give the new track a thumbs down. It looks like 💩. It sounds like 💩. Shame on Fun Spot for not finding a solution with GG. The precut may have solved the issue.
Same thing with Timber Terror and Temors at Silverwood. While smoother, the 208 sections are so loud it hurts, walking by and while on the ride.
Just re-track it
It sounds painful lol
The squeaky sounds are annoying. 🫤
It sounds TERRIBLE. God lord.
RMC does shoddy work yet again. RIP Mine Blower
What they really need to work on now is getting it some new trains. Those trains are horrible!!
I wish they could have just RMC'd the whole thing
