Thank you David, this Limestone ridge marks the edge of the West Country and would really recommend a visit there on your upcoming trip. Somerset is a magical county full of History from every period and some great walking. The views over the levels on a clear day take some beating. Cheers mate.
Truly amazing filming Jim! You've got a really good eye for it. I love the shot with the mushrooms and you walking by right at the beginning and the rest does not disappoint. Probably one of my most favourite videos I've ever watched.
Cracking return Jim. You may not be as prolific as some TH-cam’rs but quality beats quantity all day long and you absolutely nailed this one. Fantastic, great drone work. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
Thank you Mark. My thoughts as well mate. Just wanted to do this wonderful area justice, so took loads of footage only using about half but sooner have too much than not enough. Options through the edit and all that. Thanks again Mark really appreciate your words, and ATVB for 2020.
Thank you Steve, yes it's a fantastic trail this, right across the county of Somerset. Can't tell you how chuffed i was to get back out and complete it. ATVB for 2020 mate.
Another lovely film with bags of enthusiasm, atmosphere and evocative background music too. I love Wells, with its beautiful cathedral, and visit Glastonbury three or four times a year. The approach is something else, with the Isle of Avalon rising out of the mists, and you expect to come upon the ghost of King Alfred around the next corner. So much spirituality there, Jim, and you obviously feel it too. Many thanks for this cracking piece of work, as usual. ATVB and take care....mike
Somerset took me by surprise Mike. I looked at the trail, the West and East and thought beautiful, can't wait to go. But i was swept up in the history, from the Celts of pre history right up to the Norman's and up to date. I could almost hear the echo. Now i know that sounds a bit daft but on an emotional level it was real. Finally reaching the Tor with all the odds against me was such a positive feeling. I never say i have a favourite trail..trip..video. But this one has left a permanent mark and i think that's what i'm looking for here. Thank you so much Mike for watching and commenting, being able to share these experiences adds another level of special.
Such a magical area Richard. The image of the levels all flooded with the high spots sticking out as islands filled my imagination. The Celts that lived here then during the so called Dark age with King Arthur and all that, just loved it mate. Thanks for watching and ATVB for 2020.
Hiya Nick, just imagine having this sort of freedom now, just going for it exploring a new area, sitting in a pub chatting to strangers. How things have changed within a few months. Thanks for watching mate.
Thank you Stu, in many ways this walk felt like a pilgrimage ending at the magical Tor. My intention was to reach the Tor when i did the West Mendip Way but sadly ran out of time, so throughout this walk i knew i just couldn't fail, despite the weather. Thanks again mate, appreciate you watching. Take care.
I pulled a sicky and just went for it. Just couldn't get away from work. I had planned to do this walk through the Autumn to catch the magic colour of the season so just had to go and what a wonderful walk. Tough, but the result inspired me big time. Took me six weeks to get the edit done, again too busy. Thanks mate.
Only discovering your channel with this video. This is my daily stomping ground. Having lived in frome for 20 years and now living in Shepton Mallet. It was wonderful to see your reaction to Vallis Vale, the woods running between Frome, Great Elm and Mells. Its been my go to spot to replenish for the last 20 years. As an avid hiker, I'm just about to dip my toe into the world of wild camping and after watching your video I think I may have to venture to Maesbury Castle for my first night, as its only 3 miles from my front door. Great video! You have a new subscriber 💚
Thank you Kylie really appreciate that. Maesbury Castle is a fantastic spot to wild camp, I selected that spot from the map. Just a great point to head to and start again the next day, sadly I didn't recon on the young cows that were all too pleased to see me, they clearly thought I was the farmer when they came charging. The woodland that I did camp was the creepiest camp ever, got to be honest, didn't get much sleep with all the twig snaps, not a lover of woodland camping, much prefer out in the open. This whole trail proper took me by surprise, loved the views over the flatlands and of course the history. I'll be back that way next year when I explore the quantocks, looking forward to it. Thanks again for watching and getting in touch, good luck with your first camp.
Incredible way to end the trail Jim. Paul and me walked the same route up in 2000 - in that field. That brought back memories. Thanks for the trek Jim. I loved it every step of the way. A classic Holden strike out. Loads in there frisky cows and centuries old history with a wisdom and humor to keep us going happily without distraction. I didn't see this upload on the day of upload Jim. I just checked in to see if you had been up to anything - glad I did. Great filming. Well, after what you said to me I look forward to your adventures mate. All the best as always. Mark
Morning Mark, totally magic way to end a trail. I had this hope that maybe i could get a sunset from the Tor. It was a long shot i would even reach it before the sun went down. The forecast was bad for both days so to reach it in time and get the sunset was such a bonus and left a smile on my face for weeks later. That's the thing getting out like this, magic happens and for me that's the addiction. So pleased it brought back some great memories of your time out with Paul. Another wonderful aspect to this, not only connecting with the land but with each other through shared memories. An aspect i never expected when i started YT. Thanks Mark for watching, hope you are well. The days are drawing out now and that optimism for spring is taking shape. I look forward to meeting up then and getting out with you. Take care mate.
Thank you so much Anthony, always great to here from you. Wonderful trail this one, three months the wait before i could complete it but an absolute joy to walk. A very Merry Christmas to you and yours my friend and ATVB for 2020.
I can't tell you what it finally meant to me to finish this beautiful trail Sev, loved every mile and such a beautiful time of year to do it as well with the Autumn colour. Cheers mate.
Hi there Jim great to see you back out again & what a wonderful country we live in,from top to bottom so much rich history & great places to visit.as you know i love visiting these places too as you do,we certainly share a love of our history & i always love the feeling of a connection to these places especially the bronze/neolithic sites.as always Jim superb stuff & such imaginative photography.hope you've had a great xmas & all the best to you & family for the new year mate.tfs.Andy.
Morning Andy, yes these islands are stunning mate. We are so lucky to just strike out and explore like we do. Every county has a beauty and magic of it's own. All unique and i think that's now my YT plan to do a big old trail in each county. What an ambition but something i'd love to achieve before the knees go. Just back from the Lakes with the kids. A wonderful week right in the north, just behind Skiddaw, some cracking fells over the back there with fine views of Scotland. Weather wasn't great but no bother the real plan was to just be with the kids to relax for a bit but did get out when it cleared. Thanks as always mate for watching, hope you and yours had a wonderful festive season and ATVB for the new year.
Thanks Alan, really felt the connection to the history of Somerset on this trail. Three months between each section but thought about it big time and couldn't wait to get back and it didn't disappoint either. That feeling once i reached the Tor of Glastonbury was something else. I mean, it could have been low cloud, rain, full of people i just didn't know. The forecast was bad, so to get that sunset just made it so special. Thanks again mate and ATVB for 2020.
Thank you for watching Phil, really appreciate it mate. As you know i live in my van so i have data issues, not able to watch as much YT as i used to. That along with my work life balance has to change as i love this YT community and need to be more involved. ATVB for 2020 and have a wonderful Christmas Phil.
I saved this to watch in the new year but it was hard knowing it was there. I loved every second of it and as usual you picked some music that gave me goose bumps. Will be watching it again to savour it . I could almost taste the fresh air. Hope we don't have to wait too long for the next one but what a start to my new year. ATB to you and yours x
Hiya Amanda, and happy new year. Such a fabulous trail, after the WMW all i could think about was getting back to Somerset to complete it but found myself snowed under with work. Ended up pulling the plug and just going for it in the end. Didn't want to miss the beautiful Autumn colour. It was always the plan to get there then as i knew it was mostly woodland walking. Day two was truly magic, such a long shot to get a sunset from the Tor, it was always my hope but didn't really expect it as the forecast was bad for both days. There was a point i didn't think i would make it before it went down, really had to push it. That feeling though when it's done, and exceeded my expectation was the best. I have another vid ready to go. Just waiting for the copyright claim to get sorted then i'll make it live. Dartmoor this weekend, got a wonderful circular planned..hope the weather plays the game. All the best Amanda and a massive thanks as always for watching.
@@JimHolden oh I meant to mention the colours they jumped out of the TV they were sensational it was truly a treat to watch . It must have been amazing being there. It's a beautiful place and I've put on my bucket list. Really looking forward to the next one. X
Stunning video, thanks Jim. Brought back a lot of memories for me. For a few years as a child I could see the tor as I left the house in the mornings. Really enjoyed seeing these places again as I haven't been there in decades. A very Happy New Year to you Sir :-) x
Thank you Del, i met many locals on this trail and talked with enthusiasm about reaching the magical Tor. I got a puzzled look back at times but find that the norm. Hard to appreciate when it's on the door step, but for me i couldn't wait for that first sight, and i got it just before Shepton. Somerset is full of ancient history, a land of mystery, proper gets my imagination going. Love the place. So pleased it brought back some childhood memories for you. ATVB for the new year Del.
Merry Christmas Robert and thank you for watching the vid over this festive time. Time i know is best spent with family. Really appreciate it mate. Best wishes and ATVB for 2020.
Lunchtime at the Poachers? That used to be my regular under the previous management. Do I hear a Sheffield accent? A really good video with excellent footage of moody autumn skies. I have walked every bit of your two days walk, even the bit where you lost the path on the approach to Glastonbury Tor! The cows at Maesbury are quite friendly really. I once ate my lunch up there and well before I finished I had the whole lot of them crowding round and nuzzling my rucksack and sniffing at my sandwiches.
It's an absolute pleasure to be able to share these moments Dave. I truly love the whole process of getting out and creating the vid and without you guys there would be no point so Thank you mate, really appreciate you taking the time to watch over this festive season. ATVB for 2020 mate.
Yes Cranmore was so beautiful. Full of wood smoke from the big old fire at the top but at first i thought it was mist as it was raining gently at the time. The whole trail was stunning, proper enjoyed it, enjoyed just getting out for a few days. ATVB mate for 2020.
My favourite outdoors channel is back. I only passed through Somerset on my UK trip last July but the countryside looks beautiful. All the best for the season Jim and looking forward to many more videos from you in 2020. Cheers , Randall in Sydney.
Thank you Randall, Somerset is such a unique place, love the History of the area along with the stunning views. Those levels take my breath away with all the high spots. I imagine back in the day each one had it's own King and Queen. The world was so small back then. Send my regards to Sydney and ATVB for 2020 mate.
Merry Christmas Jim 🥃🥃🥃 brilliant video mate and those drone views are outstanding mate 😎😎😎 have a great Christmas and see you in the new year 🍺🍺 Atb Tony
Merry Christmas to you and yours Tony. Thanks for watching really appreciate it. Hope to get out much more in the New Year..well that's the plan. ATVB for 2020 mate.
For me there is no better feeling when it's time to set out on a trail, having a couple of days to just drop out, focusing on nothing else but the beautiful country side i walk through. The challenge of finding a suitable pitch for the night waiting for the sun to rise and hitting the trail again. Just wonderful. Our paths may cross one day, that would be really great to get out with a like minded soul. Thank you for watching and ATVB for 2020 mate.
Yes Nunny castle was off trail but that extra couple of miles were well worth it. Loved the old ruins with the perfect mote and such a beautiful village as well. The whole trail was special, tough to walk with all the mud but i was prepared for that. ATVB for 2020 mate and Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Thank you Jon. I love every minute of it though, can't think of a better hobby than this. Keeps me busy researching, editing and fit when on the trail so win win for me but without question the best thing is the contact with like minded folk like yourself and without you guys i don't suppose this channel would exist so a massive thanks for watching mate and ATVB for 2020.
Good to see you out again Jim and a 19 miler certainly put you through your paces. Frome looked a nice place and a good starting point, a place I think we drove through on the way to Glastonbury last year but unfortunate did not stop. Loved the forest and the castle, even through it was a ruin but what a place in it's day. Hit on some canny weather Jim, although I hate walking in the mud but you found a nice place to pitch, very roomy tent as well. What a gorgeous morning and the cathedral at Wells stunning. We live 10 miles outside Durham and the cathedral there is very similar and just as spectacular. What a stunning place is the 'Island of Glass' and the Tor is the crowning glory, which was a magical experience when were were there. Great watch Jim and I hope you have a very Happy and Healthy 2020, cheers Alan
Hiya Alan mate. It was great to get back out again, such a busy year last year. Just seemed to be run off my feet all the time when all i wanted was to get out on the trail. After the WMW all i could think of was getting back to Somerset to get this one finished. Weather was bad, muddy and cold but day two was magic all the way to the Tor, loved every minute of it. Thanks as always for watching Alan and all the very best for this new year.
Yayyy, Christmas has arrived early with another stunning video from you. Wise move getting away from the cows, I know someone who spent a few weeks in hospital after getting trampled by the big daft things. Merry Christmas to you and your family
I was told once to just stand your ground when cows come running as they just think you are the farmer with a nice treat. But my instincts were strong to just run, run fast. After fifteen hard miles walking didn't think i had anything left in the legs but still managed to clear a three foot fence like a bloody teenager. Just sorry the drone didn't pick that up, but hey ho got away in tact so grateful for that. Thanks for watching Jason and a Merry Christmas to you and yours as well. ATVB for 2020.
O it was such a fantastic trail this, and one i just had to get done during the Autumn colour with all the woodlands to walk through. After the WMW i was so up for it as well. The Tor had to be the goal, i dreamed of getting there just as the sun set. The relief when i arrived nearly brought a tear. Such a beautiful historic place, i could feel the energy as i got closer. Just magic. Thank you for watching and ATVB for 2020.
Absolutely stunning video, Jim. I never realised Somerset was so enticing as it's always been a 'passing through' place for us. One of my favourite videos.
Enticing is the word for sure. After the WMW i just couldn't wait to get back there to complete this trail. Dreaming of reaching the Tor with a perfect sunset as the magical backdrop and a fitting end to a fantastic trail. That's what kept me going through a real busy Autumn. The thing then was to make it happen, and it was perfect..apart from the cows. Would have loved a wild camp at the iron age hill fort. Apart from that though all went to plan. The Tor just blew me away and iv'e got to say, i was a little emo at that point, the beauty and mystery of the place but felt a real connection, like i'd been guided there. Sounds a bit bonkers i know but that's what a couple of days in nature does, and that's my addiction. Hope you had a wonderful solstice and ATVB for the new year.
@@JimHolden I'll second that regarding a magical backdrop being the Tor :-). I do like that place, and the surrounding area. Sadly when we went to see Gog & Magog a few years ago, we stumbled upon a terrible sight - some absolute idiot had set fire to them so they were totally scorched. I can't fathom out the minds of some humans, nor do I want to. I totally get what you are saying regarding being guided there. I felt like that about Dartmoor and some areas of Cornwall too. I'm Druid so we celebrate Yule, the old festival, not Christmas but I have enjoyed 2 weeks off work over December doing nothing but walking, almost every day. My favourite walk being to Warham Camp, an iron age Hill Fort here in Norfolk. It was a gorgeous clear, crisp day around 3pm but what made it even more magical was the fact that I filmed a barn owl in front of my eyes, hunting. Your nature addiction is not bonkers, I have it too! 'My name's Jim and I'm a nature addict' - sounds much better than an alcoholic anonymous meeting! Keep up the brilliant videos. I've watched them all several times now.
So good to see you back buddy and a great walk so near to our house, I can't watch it all now (last minute Christmas shopping beckons, oh the joy!) But will watch later tonight with a nice cold brew, hope you had a blessed solstice mate, wishing you the very best Xmas and new year!
O it was great to get back out. After the WMW there was only one trip i wanted to get on and always planned to do this during the Autumn colour as i knew the woodlands would be a big part. Somerset feels like home now, and that's what happens when you walk across a county, you get to know the lay of the land well. Loved it and now planning my next escape. ATVB for 2020 mate and have a wonderful Christmas.
@@JimHolden i must admit i have never walked all of it, you have found hillforts that we didnt know about! it seems you have much more local knowledge than the locals! your footage is second to none mate, my mrs laughs when you do the walking off into the distance shots, everytime she says "he had to go all the way back to get his camera", im loving your drone shots too, really adds to the overall quality, you are an inspiration mate, one day when the kids are a bit older i plan to just get out there and explore every corner of our enchanted land. i believe the Tor is on the michael lay-line, i know what you mean about the energies, even being near to the tor can recharge the old batteries no end, Avebury is the same, well, to be more exact, West Kennet long barrow is situated on the same line, the energy there is just as intense, everytime we visit it feels like a second home, something so magical about these places. it has fascinated me for years, merry Christmas mate,
I stopped watching TV years ago now. When i'm not on the trail i'm editing the vid, when it's done i start to plan my next walk. The OS comes out and by the time i get out again, kinda know where everything of interest is. Yes i speak to local people all the time thinking they obviously know all these sites but it's always the same when it's on your door step. I always say that i probably walk the trail twice going back for the camera over and over but hey ho that's the deal. Just want to show the beautiful country side at it's best, and that's the goal. If i feel it i'm going to show it. That was the mantra when i started and it's so important to me. Being out, with a sense of freedom, moves me. There is an energy out there, an addictive energy that i feel so strongly. Look at my face when i reach the Tor. Blows me away when i get back and view the footage for the first time. No ego, just a wonderful connection that takes some beating. Thanks again, the connection to the land is one thing but connecting with like minded souls is equally special.
Glad to see you completing the Mendip Way, Jim - I wasn't expecting it to happen quite so soon! You did it in style, too, making your own journey to take in the hillfort and Glastonbury Tor. I don't think many people venture up to Maesbury Castle (I've only done it once and that was this year). A shame about those cows. A friend of mine got married in Nunney Castle a few years back. I haven't done Clay Hill - although someone mentioned it on Sunday's walk. I look forward to seeing what 2020 brings and I wish you very well. All the best and Merry Christmas!
Good morning Olly mate and a very Merry Christmas to you. It was always the plan to do this section during the Autumn colour as i knew it was mostly woodland until SM and figured Maesbury would be perfect for the wild camp. Got to be honest though wasn't prepared to be chased off like that, just sorry the drone didn't pick up my hasty retreat, felt like 100mile an hour but was way more clumsy and laboured in reality. The woodland sufficed but was creepy as hell, i was already freaked out by then and it went dark real quick too. That feeling when the sun comes up is like being re born and day two down to the Tor was so special. You know the feeling when you want to give up, just can't take another step but dig deep and succeed, man the joy at the end was with me for weeks. ATVB Olly for 2020.
Thank 's Jim. another beauty of a walk and a stunning time of year.. I am off tomorrow to do kings wood and Crook, Happy new year to you, Thank you for another inspiring vid. all the best to you,,
Thank you Scott, it was a joy to get back to Somerset to finish this trail mate. Always intended to get back during the Autumn colour as well. Not often things go to plan but this one did, thankfully..well apart from the cows. Really wanted to pitch on the edge of the fort. Woodland camping creeps me out a bit if i'm honest, but hey ho i survived. Now kings wood to Crook is a cracking walk, hope it went well. That was by far my favourite section on the WMW, course i did it the other way round though. All the very best Scott, here's to 2020..it's going to be a great year.
@@JimHolden I did WMW the week after you and by golly it was wet. but that has its own bonus,, the place to myself almost, I live locally so I feel so lucky to have this on doorstep as it were, suprises round every corner natural and past industrial . See you on the trail sometime .. thanks for the reply , all the best to you for 2020
Brilliant trip video. Shame you missed Gog and Magog as they are interesting although one ( not sure which) does look in a sorry state - something magical about the area for sure. Cheers.
I did find the old Oak trees but way too dull to put the footage in. Almost dark by then and yes one of them was burned out. Apparently someone left a candle burning because it looked pretty. I loved the story of the avenue of Oaks leading up the hill, all cut down in 1907 to make the pasture land. It was then that the rings were counted, 2000. An avenue of Oaks planted before the Romans got here, now that gets the imagination going for sure. Thanks for watching mate and ATVB for 2020.
Another superb post Mr Holden, great sound track. May I wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and happy new year. Thank you for all the visual delights that you have provided this year, I look forward to more of the same next year if the fates allow.
Good morning to you Eric and a very Merry Christmas. Thanks as always for watching mate, it's a real joy to be able to get out like this, proper love it, but to share these moments makes it so special. ATVB for 2020 Eric.
Yes the drone is such a fantastic addition, my new companion on the trail. Got to use it wisely as the batteries don't last too long. Great though when you hit an old fort, just to see it from an elevated position..very special. Great trail this right across the county. Thanks as always for watching Andy and ATVB for 2020.
What a great surprise to see this drop today Jim, a lovely start to Christmas week, hope you are well and thanks for sharing another great adventure. All the very best and looking forward to see what 2020 has in store.
Thank you Jon, this one has taken an age to get together, not just getting out, but the edit as well. Work has been bonkers..man i might just retire and go on the road. That would be a wonderful thing. ATVB for 2020 and have a wonderful Christmas Jon.
Thank you Malcolm, been stupid busy this year and the thing that means the most to me has been kinda part time. Things have to change. Next year, my work life balance will be better so on the trail much more. ATVB for 2020 mate.
Jim where you bin pal . Brill vid enjoyed it yet again , the missus says I've got to start filming my adventures but I reckon it would take to much time ?? . Thanks again mate . Don't leave it so long next time pal , all the best for 2020 👍👍
Hiya Ed, another busy spell kept me from getting out sadly, but i'm going to make 2020 different, hope to get out much more this year. You should film your adventures, it brings another aspect to getting out. I spend hours editing sometimes weeks but love that creative side to it. Thanks as always for watching mate and all the very best to you and yous.
Great to see your latest adventure Jim - you have been missed ! As ever great cinematography and music score. Looking forward to more of your treks in 2020. Have a great Christmas!
Thank you Mark. Time just flies mate, can't quite believe it was three months between these trails. I wanted to get back so much but work commitments kept me grounded for way too long. Had to pull the plug in the end and just go for it, and i'm glad i did to capture the beauty of the Autumn colour. Those woodlands were special mate. Merry Christmas to you and yours and ATVB for 2020.
Thanks Mick, that feeling when a trail is done takes some beating for sure. The energy is addictive, and that me time is essential for my well being. ATVB for 2020 mate.
Great to see you again Jim, looking well too! That low light from the sun and clear visibility at the tor was incredible, you really captured it. Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you Ted, the thing i love about this time of year is that low light, the clarity is spot on, especially for the drone. A very Merry Christmas to you and yours mate and ATVB for 2020.
Good to see you again Jim . Stunning scenery and a great presentation as always . A very Merry Christmas to you and yours , and here's to more trails in 2020 .
So good to get out on this one Neil, work has been mad and for a moment thought this may not happen until the new year. The Autumn colour had to feature though with all the woodland walking so this walk felt like a real achievement getting it done. ATVB mate and have a wonderful Christmas.
Love all your videos Jim but this one is really good! Love the mix of town/countryside with the history involved as well. Very relaxing and enjoyable to watch, look forward to your next upload Happy new year from us here in Cornwall
Thank you J W, when out on the trail i would love to just be in nature from start to finish but a walk like this takes you through towns and a city so reluctantly went with it and i'm so pleased i did. A very diverse walk through a magic county. Feel a real connection to the place now. ATVB for the new year.
Yes i have the DJI Mavic Air, a cracking bit of kit. Not too heavy either but the batteries weigh a flaming ton. On a trail like this i carry five as the fly time is short so kinda work out when i want to use it. Thanks for watching mate and ATVB for 2020.
Thank you Mike, the edit is part of the process that i love the most. Firstly i can re live the adventure but also getting all creative is so much fun. I can spend hours, days sometimes weeks just playing with it. This one was pretty full on for at least a month and looks very different from the first edit which was about three hours long. Tons of footage left over but better to have too much than not enough. I just enjoy the research, then getting out and finally getting the vid sorted, but the real bonus is the feedback. You guys make my day. My lovely hat has been retired now Mike you will be glad to hear, but i'm afraid iv'e replaced it with a way more vibrant one, sorry mate. ATVB for 2020.
@@JimHolden Crikey didn't realise it was that intensive but the results speak for themselves, Jim, all the "hard work"/hobby really pays off. Love watching your channel, really top drawer. I didn't realise there was so much footage but then I guess there has to be to get such good results. Look forward to the next with or without the hat, lol.
some great music within this, fits in just right .Classic walk by JH , always worth another view
Carefully-considered shots, wonderful drone panas, gorgeous music. Loved it. Many thanks.
Thank you David, this Limestone ridge marks the edge of the West Country and would really recommend a visit there on your upcoming trip. Somerset is a magical county full of History from every period and some great walking. The views over the levels on a clear day take some beating. Cheers mate.
Watched this again today . Great walk and nice to be starting from before Cley Hill - superb
And I love the surprising musical changes at about 11:00. Very refreshing!
I can't believe that I've seen lots of beautiful places and fantastic views just in one video...thank you my friend..
Thank you my friend. Somerset is my favourite part of England full of beauty and wonderful history.
Absolutely stunning video with a good variety of shots. 😊😊👍👍
Thank you Martin, appreciate you watching mate and ATVB for 2020.
Good video Jim. Lovely country side and history with a good wild camp great. Thanks as always Steve.
What a magical hike. Richard
Such a magical area Richard. The image of the levels all flooded with the high spots sticking out as islands filled my imagination. The Celts that lived here then during the so called Dark age with King Arthur and all that, just loved it mate. Thanks for watching and ATVB for 2020.
Really nice film. Thank you.

Lovely stuff. I have a dream of doing the trip myself one day. Nice work. 👍❤️
Take care.
A lovely video. Very enjoyable.
Thank you John, such a wonderful trail and a joy to walk. ATVB for 2020 mate.
just a great video....... super filming and editing. cheers
A perfect Christmas present! Thanks Jim, great to see you out. Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄
Thank you so much Anthony, always great to here from you. Wonderful trail this one, three months the wait before i could complete it but an absolute joy to walk. A very Merry Christmas to you and yours my friend and ATVB for 2020.
wonderful walk Jim, Glastonbury Tor is a very special place, as can be seen on your face!! Sev :-)
Thanks Jim, I'm planning this one for 2020 and this is useful and inspiring.
Another fantastic vid Jim as always and a great way of putting it across man . Have a great Christmas and keep the great vids up . Fantastic 👍⛺️
Once again another fantastic adventure Jim, love watching you vids mate, great to see you back out, thanks for sharing. ATB Phil 👍
Thank you for watching Phil, really appreciate it mate. As you know i live in my van so i have data issues, not able to watch as much YT as i used to. That along with my work life balance has to change as i love this YT community and need to be more involved. ATVB for 2020 and have a wonderful Christmas Phil.
@@JimHolden Keep enjoying the adventure Jim. Big Merry Christmas buddy, ATB for 2020
Really enjoyed the video thank you, this is my local trail and I have never done the whole thing, think I should sooner rather than later
Good to see you back jim
Great to get back out Steve. I truly love Somerset, a beautiful magical area full of energy. Thanks for watching mate and ATB for 2020.
EPIC in all aspects. Taken me nicely from Eve into Christmas Day here in Bulgaria. Merry Christmas.
Epic video Jim. Love the drone footage. Wells is such a beautiful cathedral. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
A very merry Christmas to you and yours Philip. Thank you for watching mate and ATVB for 2020. Hope to get back to Portland one day soon to say hello.
Thanks for sharing Jim, A thoroughly enjoyable adventure. A very merry Christmas to you.
It's an absolute pleasure to be able to share these moments Dave. I truly love the whole process of getting out and creating the vid and without you guys there would be no point so Thank you mate, really appreciate you taking the time to watch over this festive season. ATVB for 2020 mate.
Man that forest is beautiful!
Excellent hike and camp Jim , atb for xmas Dave
Thanks Dave, such a wonderful feeling to walk right across a county and Somerset is beautiful full of history. ATVB for 2020 mate.
Enjoyed watching. Never realized how long the EMW is. I must visit Nunney castle, looks amazing. Like the music too.
Nunney is just the most delightful spot, it’s so beautiful. I’d highly recommend this little gem.
ATVB for 2020 mate.
fantastic jim really enjoyed maybe one day we bump into each other on a good walk and wild camp
What a beautiful aerial view of the castle ruins, Gray job JH. and Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
@@JimHolden Thanks mate, Happy holiday, Cheers.
Fantastic video!
Thank you Christian, really appreciate you watching mate. ATVB for 2020.
Nice to see you back out Jim, all the best for Christmas and the New Year!
It was so good to get out on this one mate, love Somerset and feel i now know it well now. ATVB for 2020 and have a wonderful Christmas.
Jim really appreciate the time and hard work you put in to your videos enjoyed every minute of it lots of interesting history along the way
Thank you Jon.
Blimey Jim, what a film. Fantastic! You've convinced me to make the kids trudge up to the Tor again in the spring.
@@JimHolden Jim, your film conveyed that beautifully. A terrific time of year to do that trail. Thanks for sharing it with us.
See you on the trail sometime .. thanks for the reply , all the best to you for 2020
God bless you Jim... Merry Christmas, hope you and yours have a good one 👍
Thank you so much Stu, really appreciate your words mate and of course for watching. ATVB for 2020.
Nice to see you again Jim! Fantastic video and inspirational, as always. The drone footage makes it a bit special. Merry Christmas!😃
Welcome back Jim, it's been a while.
Thank you Malcolm, been stupid busy this year and the thing that means the most to me has been kinda part time. Things have to change. Next year, my work life balance will be better so on the trail much more. ATVB for 2020 mate.
And to you too Jim. Thank you again for all your informative vids
A true pleasure to wat h and absorb. The very best for the season and the future.
Brilliant film as always Jim , I totally emphasise with your closing statement, Merry Christmas atb Mick
Wow stunning thanks what's the music before the cerdthedal love it like music from poldark
Hiya Andy, it's called Morning Dew and you can get it on Audio Network. Com. Thanks mate.
Love all your videos Jim but this one is really good!
Love the mix of town/countryside with the history involved as well.
Very relaxing and enjoyable to watch, look forward to your next upload
Happy new year from us here in Cornwall
Thank you J W, when out on the trail i would love to just be in nature from start to finish but a walk like this takes you through towns and a city so reluctantly went with it and i'm so pleased i did. A very diverse walk through a magic county. Feel a real connection to the place now. ATVB for the new year.
Clay Hill...keeping theym Wiltshirers out for 2000 years!
Beautifully done. Nice music. Do you have a drone?
Yes i have the DJI Mavic Air, a cracking bit of kit. Not too heavy either but the batteries weigh a flaming ton. On a trail like this i carry five as the fly time is short so kinda work out when i want to use it. Thanks for watching mate and ATVB for 2020.
Quality vid Jim how long does it take to edit something like this looks really complicated? Tip - do away with that hat 😂
Man I love that hat. Figure it’s time for it to get its own channel.
What a magical hike. Richard
