About "war" points, I think (dangerous to do!) that if I were making war points I would make them to break up after creating a nasty and painful wound. Maybe in Texas and areas with lots of stone the are really nice but the artifacts in my area are crooked, wonky and thick a lot look like beginners points they obviously worked. Not enough rock here for fancy stuff or there just small river cobbles.
