    • Video is too long and I don't have time to watch it (brief explanation of this situation): prnt.sc/slax5IWuZl8z
    • Woohoojin can't be compared to NEACE (the LoL boosted coach) in any capacity! I don't hate NEACE, but his business model is definitely a bit more problematic.
    • Woohoojin is definitely more than capable of coaching at least 98% of Valorant players! His "free coaching content" is an extremely valuable asset for players self-improvement and he's always been a positive impact on the whole Valorant community.
    • He will most likely hit Radiant on his own without any problems in the following months. But instead of lying, he should've done it himself for the first time on his main account and there are no excuses for this fake representation. Especially because I fully believe that he was more than capable to reach Radiant in 2021. Also, I can't confirm 100% if he got Radiant on some other account or from which account is that "Radiant Screenshot" that he sent me.
    • Now, I personally don't know how much of an impact the "Radiant Title & Icon" can have on a monetary value of coaches or content creators. I know that at the start he was offering private coaching that was really expensive (basically 2x more than mine), but no-one can tell if people bought his private coaching because of his persona, knowledge or because of his Radiant rank. If someone is knowledgeable and someone has a proof of players improvement, that's a really good reason to seek the help from that specific person. There's a lot of Radiant players that would be (are) terrible coaches. Coaching is like a skill that requires a specific way of thinking and work ethics that not a lot of people can develop. But on the other hand, if you're buying "Radiant Coaching", you do expect coaching from an actual Radiant player, because that person achieved something that you can't achieve right now.
    • I also fully agree with WestJett's take on this whole situation: th-cam.com/video/s_NjGillgE8/w-d-xo.html
    • With that being said, can we stop arguing about less important topics and instead turn our focus more towards Riot Games? The community is getting worse by seconds. Matchmaking experience has hit rock bottom. There is enormous amount of boosted players and accounts. Also, at this point even "Heroes Of The Storm" has more content than Valorant. Thank you! ^^

I watched woohoojin coaching videos and it helped me reach plat3 from bronze in a year, regardless of his "radiant" title I only see that as marketing but even so he is still a good content creator and free valorant coach available. I didnt get his direct coaching but how he breakdown the students problem and help those stuffs in video is really clear (at least for me)... honestly, he is better coach than a coach that demands you to pay 100$ for crosshair placement coaching (i am broke). I totally agree that woohoojin cant market himself as "radiant coach" because he only reached radiant in that year, but I think people who started or firing up this drama just wanna deny woohoojin success in his coaching career

What do you mean he only reached radiant in that year? He never got radiant. I don’t think people are attacking his coaching, I think people are just saying it’s fraudulent to call yourself a radiant coach when you never achieved the rank. His coaching being good or bad has nothing to do with the issue. The issue is him lying and potentially making financial gain by advertising his radiant status as a coach.

    • @Eastra3
      @Eastra3 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Its True. In many sports from NCAA to Pro level, most of the coaches were not always elite players. Elite players don't always make good coaches. Some of the best coaches never even played in college or pro level, but just understands the game and has a tactical mind. Woohoojin may be an elite coach, but just not an elite player. Its unfortunate that in the gaming community they think that your knowledge holds no merit unless you have reached the highest levels, because that is not the reality. Woohoojin's wrong in all of this was the false advertising, and even though it was wrong, I understand why he felt he had to do it, so that his knowledge would be respected among players that feel that you must be the very best to teach the very best.

Woohoojin is a positive force for the valorant community regardless of whether he hit radiant or not. I’ve only been ascendant 2, but that still qualifies me to coach 80% of the valorant population (I made this number up and I feel it is probably generous). I really don’t think it matters at the end of the day. Radiant or not, we have seen Woohoojin get immortal 2 and 3 on accounts. Sure it isn’t t500, but it’s statistically likely to be a lot better than whoever is reading this.

He doesn’t record coaching sessions because he is very personal with his teachings and has to know you as a player. He gave me my own routine and trainings to do as well as how to improve over time as fast as possible. But he does give the basics to some students but those kinds of tips he has already said in his videos or he has documented on his discord and files that are accessible to students. They are highly detailed and very informative. I strongly recommend him over woohoojin. Woohoojin and his mods aren’t really that nice… at least they weren’t to me. And he doesn’t tolerate questioning his methods 🙄

I loved Woohoojin's videos, especially his early content.
However recently I've noticed a big shift in his content, it went from cold hard facts, and clear ways on how to improve, to now constantly contradicting himself and giving advice I'd consider genuinely bad.
I'm confused why you Charlatan care about defending woohoojin so much? From what it looks to me, he was super cold and harsh to you, "gotta cut ties" and all, and then doubles back, its super weird behaviour from him. His coaching style unlike yours which has a much more solid fundamental understanding, is focused on details, and semantics that sometimes work in specific contexts, however more often than not is actually bad advice.
I started writing why in my opinion wooj is annoying, and it got a bit long so I'll section this out in case whoever is reading wants to skip .
    -- Mini Wooj rant --
It actually hurts to watch his videos nowadays, as its a husk of what the content used to be. And on his streams from when I've checked them out, he plays like a plat/diamond player in terms of gamesense, but his aim carries him, contrary to how he claims his aim is his "weakness".
He still has nuggets of helpful ideas in his recent videos, but its surrounded by useless/harmful information that the viewer is going to have to manually sift through themselves.
    ALSO !
He's extremely egotistical and hypocritical which makes all these issues even worse. He'll tell people in the reviews how stupid they are if they're not coordinating with their team, and how its never the teammates fault, its yours.
Then when he plays, "Ahhhh what are they dooooooooooooing??"
Constant complaints, and its never his fault.
And when he does critique a genuine issue the player has, he picks up on the most random small issue. Instead of the elephant in the room that's making almost all the plays the player is attempting to do fail. For example, he critiques the poor timing the player had with his teammate on a swing, for a single fight.
For starters, wooj himself has pretty terrible timing from when ive seen him play.
Second, even if the player did time perfectly, it wouldn't have mattered, since his crosshair was in off in narnia despite knowing exactly where his target was, and we've already seen from prior gameplay the player can't flick. And there was a second enemy on heaven looking right at the player.
There were so many other areas to focus on, for example if a player is dashing to gen like that, we need to take a few steps back and review the game at a more basic level.
Don't get me wrong, teamwork is crucial to work on, but it wasn't the key thing holding this player back, not even top 10.
His teamwork was on par with all the other players in his rank. And the rank above.
The last part to the mini wooj rant is what I personally find to be most annoying, but I don't expect many to agree.
His free coaching vods is a generous offer, and when first started was a really cool thing. I also think its a pretty big step for all those people giving their vods for wooj to review. They're going out of their comfort zones and being quite vulnerable in order to improve.
    In return?
"It took you 11 bullets to kill him..... thats ridiculous."
    "What are you doooooooooooing?"
"Cmonnnnnn what are you doooooooooing? You know they're halls?"
Basically bulling and shaming with hardly any constructive / useful information. 90% of the info he gives is not how to improve, but rather smurf on the enemies. Like yeah sure a tp up top might work in diamond/Asc or whatever, but that advice has no context, so when the person being reviewed tries to extrapolate these concepts and starts losing, their not going to have any idea why.
-- Mini Wooj rant end --
I think there's a really short supply of quality coaching videos, and I think you're one of them. But I'd be curious to hear other peoples perspectives! I might've missed some things or arrived to incorrect conclusions.

Is it so bad to lie to his supporters to save his own skin? Everyone has done that once in their life: it doesn't deserve moral outrage. He's not scamming his supporters nor providing bad coaching. Does it really matter that he lied? Thinking you have moral superiority over others is much worse than simple self-preservation. You think being "moral" is so easy: the point is that you have to work at it. So why be outraged when people fail to do it? We're just human. And dissociating from others just because they did one tiny thing wrong is morally wrong tbh. To me, he's done way too much good in the community from coaching alone that we can let this incident slide. I'm not trying to promote boosting since it's not good and ruins queues.
In conclusion, I believe we could just let this slide and hope he's learned his lesson from this since he's still a great coach most especially to new players trying to pick up the game which can help the game grow to better heights.

Actually, this proves that he has a decade of experience in eSports and that he did reach high ranks in other games as well.
Because the fastest way to learn something or to grow in some field is to surround yourself with people that are more experienced than you.
Anyone who reached high ranks in any game understands that you improve significantly faster when you play with and against better players.
He didn't have any experience in FPS tactical games, so it seems logical that he's going to seek help from someone that is far more experienced than him.
If I wanted to reach "Grand Master" in Rocket League, I'd definitely get coaching from someone as soon as possible in order to understand that game in and out.
