My wife is Thai and we have considered moving to CM, but have a question. We would most likely have to "leave" CM when the air gets bad in late Feb/March. Do families with kids going to school have to remain in town when the air gets bad? Are they able to take time off? How is this done? I can't imagine remaining in CM with the air index 400 and above.

Can foreigners buy homes in Thailand?
There are restrictions on land ownership but many properties have options for ownership. May I ask if you have any current plans for Chiang Mai?
